At this point I really don't see LeBron going West because the West is too strong and only getting stronger. I think he recommits to the Cavs. In which case, Cle should flip that 1st and some cannon fodder for an Anthony Davis or something. That team could handle GS no problem.
There is no way on Earth the Cavs get AD are you...what's wrong with you? Why would you even say something like this?

No, he isn't. J.R. tends to go in when defending star players but struggles and doesn't have the same level of engagement against lesser players, there's been articles written about this and I've noticed this since he was a Knick. Also, he is undisciplined in terms of silly fouls whether running through screener, fouling three point shooter, or bad reach-ins. I don't think any metric rated J.R. Smith as a + defender last year.

As much as y'all like to get on D-Wade for not running back in transition against Boston, J.R. was out here doing this :heh:

D-Wade still has strong defensive instincts and physical tools, he can still jump in the passing lanes, he can still block shots, and he can still dig-in on the ball in those tight spots.

You obviously didn't watch too many Bulls games last season. As inconsistent as JR is on defense (I've mentioned this at least three times in this thread), he's still better than Wade at this point in their respective careers. You say that JR is undisciplined; giving away silly fouls while running through screens or fouling shooters - well at least he's trying to defend. Wade doesn't even bother to chase players around screens regularly, Wade doesn't even bother to contest shots regularly, Wade doesn't even bother to close out regularly. Wade doesn't even bother to get back in transition situations regularly, Wade doesn't even bother to help on PnR regularly.

There are many things that Wade doesn't and can't do on defense anymore, whereas at least JR tries to do those things and at times has success at doing them. The odd steal or block that Wade gets doesn't make up for his inactivity on the defensive end.

This Cavs team is one of the most stacked in the history of NBA. I cant wait to hear the excuses for Lebron come June.
:gucci: Their best point guard is recovering from hip surgery and nobody really knows how he's gonna look once he returns. None of their guards play any defense, their power forward is damn near unplayable against the warriors, they're gonna be relying on a soon to be 33 year old 15 year player with 51,000 minutes to his name to anchor their defense, and they don't have a center on their roster. Their current roster is arguably just as flawed as the one last season that won just 51 games.
