Another reason 4K is ridiculous: the prices. Just saw on Amazon a 3 pack feature for The Shaun of the Dead crew is close to $45! fukk wanna pay that much for 3 movies? :what:
Breh you're talking about something that comes out 2 months from now. It will drop by release date. Universal 4ks are usually cheap af.

The Jurassic park 4 movie was under $30

Here's one - if you're not a TV/movie watcher to justify buying a 1x $5-10 purchase, I get that. But then how will you justify paying $12-$15 per month, times however many streaming services that you have? On top of that. you may do an On Demand rental for another $4-6. You still lose, because ultimately, you're paying for something that you're never using due to not really having time or interest. And that's how they're getting you.

There is if you want your shyt in HD.

I'm sure the format war with hd-dvd did not help neither did the recession. But people would upgrade if they had to. Like every other format made us eventually. I know not everyone's a videophile, but don't these people realize the TV shows they're watching look way better than their fuzzy ass DVDs?
Most people really don't care bruh

DVD is the bare minimum of quality most people are willing to consider good. That makes anything that comes after it niche

Apple took a whole headphone jack from nikkas. That's an automatic drop in sound quality. nikkas gladly bought iPhones after the fact

We out here listening to badly mixed mp3s and have been for ages at this point:manny:

Hd is nice to look at when you're watching the displays in best buy, but the average person don't really care like that

Blu-rays are also still too expensive for the average consumer. Ain't nobody trying to pay $25+for a movie especially in 2019:manny:. $20 is pushing it tbh

Formats didn't change because they forced us to:mjlol:. We accepted and adopted them. The people didn't accept Blu-ray:manny:

Facts. I don’t care if a tv is super clear like I see in stores. I mean I’ll stop and look at it for a minute, that’s it

If it’s 720p than I’m fine. I seen shyt in 4K too. Both are fine with me

This thread is the first and only time I ever wished The Film Room and Arcadium didn't split.

I told cats back on SOHH like 10+ years ago that BR would never catch on like DVD. The average person don't give a fukk about all that....hell, we had people in this sub-forum asking for blurry ass cam links to "Endgame" the week it came out.

Why would you want the 2 subs to be one again? :why:

Also, :scust: at watching cam rips in 2019. Haven’t seen one of those since late 2000s. :scusthov:

that's not how the math works. paying $12-15/month for multiple titles >> paying 50-66% of that price for ONE thing. it's not about not having time, it's about not having time/interest to watch that one movie multiple times. i'd rather rent Bad Boys for $3 than pay $10 for DVD where I'm going to watch it when I get home, then never watch it again for 2-3 years...just sitting there taking up space

I don't, and never would....I'm saying, the vast majority of people that post in The Arcadium are from SOHH. And there was a similar sub-forum over there, where those same cats swore up and down BR was gonna completely eclipse DVD "in a couple years". shyt never happened, just like I said.
