ahhh, Duval...place was like my 2nd home when I use to live in Valdosta...we'd skip school and come down there...one of the few places I'd want to retire to (don't ask me why)...use to hit this one joint called Medusa's (think that was the name) on the northside & after getting shot at, never crossed that bridge whenever I'd come down there to stay w/ my godsister...good times

I grew up there so the tie is sentimental first and foremost. I just love my city and it's character....good and bad. It's country, it's city, it's metropolitan, but at the same time it's not. It's so big that each side has it's different character and you don't have to leave the city to get something different if you want. Black folks making me do this
...,then I hop on 95 south, I'm on the south side, I'm headed to the beach. Artsy? Five points...Riverside. Art Walk is what's poppin now. Then you know we got the Jags, but we get great college football games too. Saturday's we get the crab pot going....it's just home! It's not better than any other place, and I can see how folks who aren't from here don't like it, but it's just Duval...it's got it's own feel

that's damn near every club there...at least when i use to run through there heavy...you would've hated it there from like 94-97.....dudes shooting up strip clubs and shyt just because...but even with all that, it's just a charming quality about the city...don't know what it is but i love it...i just hate going to see my folks on 23rd Cir S when I do go there...i have to tell them to meet me at the bus stop just so i don't get

sounds like you need a better quality of folks to hang with...even the "hood" folks i do hang with there balance out the stuckk up ones there...they all matching and they all have a gang of broads come thru when the kid in town

That shyt is unfortunately true too. One thing I don't like is that there isn't enough for progressive black folk to do. If it ain't dealing with Boosie, Plies, or some other form of ratchetness then it there isn't much else going down.
I don't currently live there. Haven't lived there really with the exception of a couple of summers in undergrad since I graduated high school. When you go away you appreciate the nostalgia, but you do start to see the cracks so to speak
