Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
This is facts.

Also don't forget the taper fade afro

This made everybody give up on waves. This was the most popular hairstyle for the past 4 or 5 years

That’s a fact. I’ll speak on my city. American and American raised New Yorkers never adapted the dread wave instead they skipped it and went straight to this one.

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
Durags dropped in popularity around 2010-17.

I remember dudes getting called a bum for wearing them outside.

Might be some truth to this cause New Yorkers never stopped wearing du rags and I would see slick comments on the world star hip hop vids.

But everything old comes back with a twist.

Nobody wasn’t rocking those velvet du rags back then.

It was the head gear our peoples rocked on plantations. Crazy ain't it?

Even the code of the head nod goes back til then. It was basically a way of keeping track of all the brehs/brehettes in case some shyt happened to them.
I assumed headwraps and stocking caps were the go to, until someone could get to a sowing machine.

I only wore durags when I was rocking braids to keep them fresh. Like 15 years ago :aicmon:

Even then the fitted New Era was over it and the flap was NEVER out:scusthov:

Dudes would clown you if you had the flap out, that was a cluck look. Only dudes that was flap outs were at the corner liquor store asking for beer money:sas2:
