Is it? I feel so far removed. I feel like the only time I hear about waves is on here.
There are channels on YouTube with millions of subscribers for waves, Instagram pages, 1/2 the Black men I see walking around or more have 360s.

Man, way back in like 03 I was walking to the 7/11 with a friend of mine. We came around the corner and saw this white dude unconscious on the ground with a durag on and his shoes missing. We knew he was alive cause he was snoring.

Without missing a beat we just kept walking past him and never brought it up.

Oh. I wouldn’t have known. Kinda live in a bubble.

But serious question. What do waves signify? Is it “good hair”?

Is there an argument that black women accepted the natural hair movement but not black men and thus some black men are still suffering from self-hate? Or we suffer from forms of self-hate more than black women?

I was wearing durags all three years of HS from 2010-13 and every other guy at the school with waves did the same thing.
Waves never went out completely, it was just trendy guys that jumped off an on.
I've been getting a fade for the past 20 years. My barber always ask me if i want to try something new and I'm like nah.

Only reason you seeing so many of them nowadays is because cats are too lazy to comb/brush their hair, not to protect it like WE did back in the day.

Y'all ain't foolin' me.

I wear my durag for my waves only and that’s usually while I’m at home or about to sleep
