Would make sense. I doubt the studio wants Zendaya or Timmy Carrots to age too much between now and then. And for Villeneuve, competing the trilogy right away will allow him to move on freely afterwards.

He was never seriously planning on moving on. Its a money play same as Dune2. No one else is going to direct, you're essentially just delaying the film by not attaching. WB can't have that. Only someone like Disney would be cheap enough to start juelzing.
