I’m far more excited about Sony investing in VR than I would be with them jumping back into portables/handhelds.

VR still feels like a new frontier especially with AAA gaming. I think nintendo and soon the steam deck pretty much have all bases covered for portable gaming. There’s no juice left in that lemon

VR bout to be niche like it was with the first one. Not enough mainstream games for it. When 2k,madden,cod become Vr u will have the audience. Might as well get a Oculus for Vr at this point.


I bought the first one and regretted all that bread I spent on it. GameStop was only giving like $50 for the trade at one point. I sold it on Craigslist for $200

That money was invested to that division’s budget. Sony ain’t gonna just move 40% of PSVR’s budget to make 100 PS5s. Then PS5 probably has 10x the budget of PSVR’s team so that money is minuscule.

Man competent VR is still in its infancy and very much a niche market.

Oculus is still top tier, and it is lightweight. The ability to play out the box also makes it a top above everything else.
VR won't be widespread until the need of head gear is no more. Sony didn't sell that many VRs last gen so it is surprising they are putting resources into another one so soon especially with the system not even on the shelf.

Nope, I think VR isn't close to being ready for the type of gaming experiences I enjoy.

It's cool in the same way motion controls were cool with the wii.


I do think VR (more so AR) is the future long term tho.
