Here's what's even more worrying to me. In the last month, Trump hasn't gotten the single solitary slightest bit of good news.
Kamala had the entering the race energy. Kamala has had huge rallies. Kamala had the nominating Walz energy. Kamala had the convention bump. Kamala had the constant JD Vance gaffe bump. Kamala had the debate bump. Kamala had the Taylor Swift bump. Kamala had the dogs/cats kerfluffle. Trump has responded to everything pathetically and with low energy. And Kamala has had extremely favorable media attention through all that, which usually favors Trump.
It feels like every single bit of momentum has been in Kamala's favor, yet none of it sticks or creates the slightest separation. There's a strong feeling in this race that the "fundamentals" (which are based on the economy, people not being happy with their lives, and the low approval rating of the current administration) keep pulling Trump back up as a default and Kamala needs a constant positive news cycle to stay even slightly ahead.
