It's the 50 Cent effect imo: at this point in the creative downturn of his career, a lot of people's investment in Drake is solely based on being fans of the biggest/hottest artist. He has to be indestructible and people want to be on the winning side, so when he takes an L the fans can't deal with it. I remember when Kanye outsold 50 and his stans were claiming Graduation got juiced by the label, or Interscope/Jimmy Iovine sabotaged 50 to teach him a lesson. And then once that fall off truly happens, those fans move to the next hot dude/winner.
