Adventure time was on for seemingly forever, regular show was on for a decade, and the list goes on. These kids actually have it a lot better than we did because most of our cartoons were all made to sell toys. Damn near every single one of them.
Why them cartoons be lasting a whole decade, but Ducktales ending next year?

Disney has this rule about cartoons only lasting 50-65 episodes. CN and Nick, by comparison, will let shyt play for decades.
That's an outdated rule That should have been lifted decades ago
I think it also has to do with bypassing Union stuff.
No matter what, the more a show goes on, the more expensive it becomes to produce; not from the materials itself, but from everyone involved. So instead of having to renegotiate with Unions for paying out more money, Disney will just legally cut it and say, "This will be the final season, make it a great series finale." and that's that.

It's funny you say that cause a few yrs back, I went and looked up all the cartoons that I used to watch, and was shocked to find that most of them only had like 2 seasons or in some cases, 1 season.
And I was like
cause when I was little, it seemed like I was watching them for 5 or 6 years, or longer. But nah, in some cases, it was like 8 months. 
but to lil neo, it seemed like forever back then.
Watching it now and enjoying every second.
