bytch i quantize hard as a muthafukka

u gotta learn mixing techniques, even the most basic sounding drum instruments can be made into something good

saturate your snares/hi hats basically everything but your kicks, you can saturate that too but thats if your going for more of a breakbeat or classic hip hop style, for trap you dont wanna saturate your kick because it takes off some of the low end and makes it sound more hollow

u might need to speed ur shyt up too a bit, to make it flow and give it that nod-ur-head effect, also you wanna keep it interesting, play with different sound and throw them in, also make sure your drums match your melody, like if its a toned down kinda track your drums dont need to pop or sizzle, you can lowpass them shyts to make it sound darker and mellow. Quantizing i dont think is that srs, i live record my drum loops and i usually align my shyt cuz personally if anything is slightly off it drives me crazy, i dont think it gives a live-recording sound. For that what works better is changing the velocity behind your drums, i usually make the velocity of my shyt match the song so when i want it to rly hit hard i raise it high, then i lower it down for the other hits so it sounds natural and intended.

Learning to mix and just messing around is all u rly need to do to get drums down, i sucked real hard at them till i got my maschine, i learned how to make things sound perfect fast with that the maschine is great with drums.
