Don't know if this is well known or not, but it looks like Red and Meth were cool with 50 quite a while before he blew up.

I had recognized the shoutout on this line before, but didn't really put the time period into context.

Redman - Yesh Yesh Y'all (Muddy Waters 1996)
"Who the fukk runnin' off at their mouth?
I let my nikka 50 Cent knock that ass out"

And after googling that line this vid came up

Method Man, D'Angelo - Break Ups 2 Make Ups (1998)

@2:35

Then 50 didn't even put his first song out until 1999.

Looks like 50 was a Method Man fan growing up. Surprised those guys haven't done any collabs.

Rza Gza and ODB got into a brawl with the Dismasters (remember the track "Small Time Hustler"?) in the 80s

Keith Murrays mother was a crackhead who burnt down their house by accident while she was basing coke.

Eminem made his comeback in 2009 and spent his time and effort going after a pop diva(Mariah Carey) but in the same year when Canibus made a line about his daughter(Haleys Comet) he ignored him because he believed Mariah Carey was an opponent he would gain more respect for going up against in the hip hop community.....

He was looking to earn his stripes

rick ross aka william roberts checked an inmates colon for contraband one time and actually found a gerbil in there..

he then took it home as a pet and when it died a couple of years later he stuffed it and he still has it placed upon his mantle to this day

I was on the set of a movie called Sister Sarah in the early 90's being filmed by a local director in Baltimore. My uncle who was part of the crew told me the director was shopping the script but shooting the movie out of his pocket and filming it in the city. The movie was about a group of young black girls who were sisters and robbed banks. My uncle also told me don't say too much because the director was worried about some shady people in the entertainment industry stealing his script. The director was named Chris Robinson...same one famous from videos now and made the ATL movie for TIP...the script was taken and tweaked into what you know now as the movie Set It Off with Latifah, Jada Pinkett etc...just one of my crazy experiences growing up wit hip hop in Baltimore. Also sat in the living room in the projects in Cherry Hill while my other uncle smoked a jay wit EPMD...Virgil Simms who PMD shouted out on Please Listen To My Demo was from my projects in Baltimore and I guess them nikkas wanted to smoke so he brought em to my uncle spot...they was doing a free show at the shopping center.

This is Kevin Liles (Def Jam) at the beginning of this song that Milli Vanilli wound up taking...his crew Numarx use to rock back in the day and got a lot of local radio play even in the early 80's

Baltimore

Baltimore holds a special place in that past. It was three Baltimore retailers—known as the Three Amigos—who petitioned Nike to resurrect the Air Force 1 in 1984 after the shoe had had its initial run. Through innovative color ways the Downtown Locker Room, Cinderella Shoes, and the legendary Charley Rudo’s Sports capitalized on the fashion-conscious desires of urban kids in Baltimore and helped set the AF1 on the path it has traveled ever since.

:salute:

That was dope money being spent in them three stores and dopeboys requesting special colors...Airs were 74.99 back then. nikkas was buying 4-5 colors at a time smh

It's another 50 Cent, not the one from Fort Green (Who died by then) or Queens

50 had songs out in 1997.
