- Rhymefest defeated Eminem in a rap battle back in the day

- The original cover art for Illmatic was Nas putting Jesus in a headlock

- Nas originally wanted Marley Marl to produce the entirety of It Was Written, he recorded a few songs such as On The Real but Marl kept throwing other rappers on the songs so eventually Nas went with Steve Stoute's suggestion to use Trackmasters

- Common's first album Can I Borrow A Dollar was recorded on a $1600 budget.

- To save money on studio time during the recording of Ressurection, No I.D. Would record beats on his answering machine. Common would call, listen to the beat, and write his raps.

- Dark Fantasy was originally meant to be the intro for The Blueprint 3 but Jay-Z decided not to use it

- Primetime was originally for Common, then Nas, before Jay and Kanye recorded to it

- Nas wrote his verse for Ghetto Dreams right on the spot on his blackberry after No. I.D. Played him the beat

- DJ Premier sent Big a tape with the Kick In The Door beat on it. Later in the day he went to go pick up his plaque for producing on Ready To Die and ran into Puff, Puff told him that Biggie wouldn't like the beat and to send another one. Later that night Biggie called Premier to come work on Kick In The Door and Premier was shocked saying "Puff thought you wouldn't like it" Biggie said "fukk Puff! I got some shyt to get off and I gotta get at your man Jeru"

- Oh Boy was originally for Memphis Bleek

- Don't You Know was originally a Nas diss

- Welcome To New York City was originally for Freeway

- Prodigy was not initially a fan of Biggie. He thought he was corny and that Biggie bit some of his rhymes

Chuck D didn't just give Busta his name....much of his persona and flow was crafted with the help of Chuck.

-Jada Pinkett was supposed to originally direct the "California Love" Video. Will Smith found out and shut it down. Years later Will Smith reached out to Dr. Dre for some music to use in Bad Boys 2, Dre and his camp let them use the song "bytch nikkas" as a secret little diss to Will.

- The "Doin It" beat by LL Cool J was originally meant to be Biggie's lead single for Life After Death but Diddy was delaying Ringo's payment. LL heard the beat and offered him cash on the spot. This is why in the background of the song you hear "GO BROOKLYN!!! GO BROOKLYN!!!". Diddy called Ringo later on screaming and cursing him for giving the beat to Uncle L
:ohhh:

- Jimmy Iovine had several conversations with Nas throughout the 90's trying to get him to sign to Interscope
-Method Man threatened to kill Wendy Williams after she revealed live on air that Meth's wife was suffering from Cancer. Her own family members didn't even know at the time..
- Raekwon and Ghostface once tied a dude up in their car and whooped his ass in the early 90's. Years later at the release of Shaolin Vs. Wu-Tang Raekwon is doing a radio interview and the guy calls up and reminds Rae of the time they whopped his ass
- Method Man was supposed to be on Suspect off It Was Written but he and Nas could never connect
- Biggie wanted Dr. Dre to produce on Life After Death
- Scarface wanted to an album with Ice Cube and Nas
-Nas was in the studio while Kelis and Andre 3000 were working on a song called "Hip Hop Is Dead and R&B Is Dead" he liked the title and stole it, hence 2006's Hip Hop Is Dead
:ohhh::ohhh:

Nas and AZ was suppose to be on Bring It On off Reasonable Doubt but both kept not showing up
:ohhh:

Eazy-E's death from AIDS wasn't as sudden as some may think. Dr. Dre and Death Row knew at least. If you listen to the first interlude on Doggystyle before Lodi Dodi, Daz and some other people are at a party talking about someone who dissed them. A man proceeds to say fukk them and says 'HIV p*ssy having motherfukkers'. Directly after that, someone says 'Eazy come, eazy goooo....' and Lodi Dodi comes on. It's been rumored that Dr. Dre set Eazy-E up to get AIDS. It is alleged that he got two prostitutes, one who had AIDS, and he had sex with one and Eazy had sex with the one with AIDS.
ohhhhhhh shyt:ohhh:

-Biggie was at one point going to have Heavy D solely produce his third album, the two were rumored to possibly work on a joint album together
:ohhh:

Kid N Play, Martin Lawrence, and Salt N Pepa all worked at Sears together before they blew

Chris Rock was an extra in the 1985 movie Krush Grove and in Big Daddy Kane's Smooth Operator video

Chris Rock had a record deal as a rapper before he was a comedian
:ohhh:

to build upon the Big and Puff thing, Puff def did not want Long Kiss Goodnight on LAD. he did not like the idea of RZA getting publishing on what he knew would be a huge seller, Big went over his head and got ahold of Power and set it up. Cappa was on it, but his verse was cut

True Master ended his relationship with WTC (group publishing) based on physical altercations with Power. he has done some some solo work with members, but had stated years ago he would never deal with Power again
Puff is a fakkit

In 1995 following the success of their debut lp "Southernplayalistic Caddilac Music" ...the Andre 3000 of the Atlanta based group OUTKAST long with their manager Blue Williams were in the midst of further solidifying their Dungeon Family brand by seeking a label deal for their associates GOODIE MOB.

While in New York attending various meetings with label heads, the RZA gave an interview to a street fanzine publication in which he made what was deemed a degrading remark about the south ..."They (southerners) can't feel our music cause you gotta understand they still infatuated with pork and our uneducated"

Andre 3000 took exception to the remark feeling this was probally the sentiment of most of the NYC based music execs him and Blue had to deal with, Andre subliminally refrenced this at his 2005 "speech" while accepting his Source Award .....

"got a demo ain't nobody trying to listen to ...but the SOUTH GOT SOMETHING TO SAY!"

Later that evening at the SOURCE AWARDS....Andre 3000 "tried" to have a sitdown with RZA over his remarks and words were exchanged between both camps ALMOST resulting in a physical confrontation according to James of the Dungeon Family based group Concrete.

Fast Forward to 1997 the RZA gives another interview to RAP PAGES magazine and reiterates the same comments with no apology,,,,,tension is thick ...considering promoters are trying to book OUTKAST and WU on the same shows, ...fortunately the beef is subsided when Blue Williams meets with Loud Records president Steve Rifkind to mediate the issues....

Which in 1998 is one of the factors which led to the "SKEW IT ON THE BAR-B" collaboration between Outkast and Raekwon

Cee-Lo however never let it slide.......matter of fact since RZA was unapologetic and he still felt that the NYC based industry would still be prejudiced towards southern artists regardless...he addressed it bodly on the intro to the Goodie Mob 1998 release "STILL STANDING" with the track "THE EXPERIENCE".........

"I thought you suppose to be the G-O-D sound like another N1GGA to me"

I like RZA as an artist but he is a dumb ass stuck up bytch:upsetfavre:
