I think what I like is that the other world that Robin Williams spent a lot of his life in is only hinted at...we see some of the terrors, but still so much is left to the imagination. I think they eventually had a cartoon but I never watched it.
I still think that this is one of the scariest slasher movies. Maybe only Hellraiser beats it (Which makes sense, considering that they both came from the mind of Clive Barker). Newer horror movies have a hard time just letting the story be actually creepy and spooky...
When it comes to these mad scientist movies, it's The Fly >>> Re-animator >>>>>>> Everything else.
