As someone who drives a manual car, the novelty of doing so wears off very quickly. I do too much long distance driving and getting caught in bumper-to-bumper traffic is the worst. My next car is most definitely going to be an automatic.
novelty? lol? I'm from a culture where its not a novelty its just basically the only way to drive.

Well, I'm from the UK where it's expected of you to know how to drive manually. I've been driving for nearly 2 years now and it's a pain, especially since I'm driving 2 hours a day and getting caught in traffic is normal.

cause you're a rookie to driving, when you're 11 years deep then you'd understand

I can't argue with that since it's true but to me, driving should be about convenience and enjoyment. Driving a manual can provide the enjoyment (shifting into 5th and breezing down the motorway at 90+mph :whew:) but it's not always convenient.

any real driving enthusiast knows that if you want to be entwined and want the maximum performance from your vehicle, the Manual transmission is the way to go.

if you have a high performance track/sports-car and it's not stick shift then you should return it and buy a Kia Sorento. just give up.

even with the high-profile cars with automatic transmissions and paddle shifters, are semi decent (granted you use the paddle shifters to change gears and not let the trans up/down-shift for you.)

being a city guy, automatic cars are not necessarily a necessity, but it is easier than clutching in a stop and go traffic jam.

therefore Manual cars for racing/performance on a track. Automatic for casual everyday driving.

and as far as agreeing with the OP. Audi is my favorite car manufacturer since back in the day. but I like my Cadillac car's as well.

I always say it's European and American cars >>> Asian cars. (even tho I've had all three) (German, Jap, and American.)

I wanted a Beetle as my first car, so i was forced to learn how to drive stick since they dont really come in automatic

Literally took me two months to get comfortable, but the first time on the road was a nightmare since your still trying to piece evrything together.

The thought of stalling in mid traffic and causing a fatal accident is what kept me from being uncomfortable behind the wheel for like a month.

Its basically second nature now and I live in LA so all they lazy nikkas complaining about traffic need to stop
