I don't get how players who make All-Decade teams aren't sure fire Hall of Famers. Like they proved themselves in a decade as the top of their positions and yet they don't get in automatically. Like Steve Atwater is in the 90s first team and might finally get in this year.

exactly. as soon as they're eligible they should be in. you can't judge them on what future players do and how the game progresses. one year he led the league with 870 receiving yards. that would be a joke today, but why compare him to players from the 80s to the 2010s? he's from the 70s.
