Alot of these artist on Dreamville are a chore to listen to imo. I think I like the spirit of what Cole is tryna do tho I guess.

I think the production is excellent.

J Cole really helped shifted the over reliance of 808 in mainstream RAP.

And tried to give a little more balance with "boom Trap" and updated boom bap. He is not the only artist doing it but on the mainstream he was one of the first to usher it back in.

Might do a appreciation thread on this topic.

I fukks with Guapdad. I kinda perplexed why he hasn't achieved more mainstream success. Maybe he is on his way tho. I saw he has a No Jumper interview. Maybe consumers will be interested then.

I think he had an image problem because his vocals are decent to me.

Ay keep it real could most of these Dreamville nikkas make it independent of J Cole? Shouldn't alot of these dudes just get a regular job?

Cole once again proving himself as self-centered
It was the albums single :gucci:
No it wasn't :mjlol: shyt was released in January and was recorded months before the sessions were even a thing. It was a loosie (which should've stayed as one) that was later called a "single" just so it could be added to this project. The real singles were Got Me/ Down Bad whatever else they put out leading up to the release:hhh: There was no real reason for it to be on here other than Cole being egotistical as usual. It's a project meant to shed light on the talent he oversees at his label, but Cole couldn't help to take the spotlight from them just to bring the attention back to him for a while.

Is there a particular reason why Cole and Kendrick don't collab with each other in public? They have a sh!tload of material together that's never been released. Can't even get them on the same record on a compilation album..... I'm sure "we can handle 2 this clever"
