Wonder if Pistons would be interested. The perfect big offensively to play with Cade and Ivey. Wolves can’t afford to keep KAT, Edwards, Gobert, and McDaniels. And with new CBA they’re not going to get a crazy trade package like what they gave up for Gobert last year. And the end of Town contract is crazy high yearly. Most teams can’t absorb that cap hit

#5, Stewart, Hayes for KAT :yeshrug:

I think we’re playoff bound if we do this while remaining healthy. My first thought was fukk that but the way he plays fits perfectly with Duren and Cade. I would like this a lot.

whatever the pistons offer for Kat it will be easily outbid by Portland unless you’re trading Cade

3 + Simons >> whatever the pistons can offer

Lillard, Sharpe, Grant, KAT :patrice:
Alot of money but still not championship caliber. Really don’t understand Portland. Just trade Dame and start over

IDK trade Nurk for some role players and they would be near the top of the west …and If it doesn’t work out a few years down KAT is still young enough to be flipped for more pieces to pair with Sharpe .

I don’t see a downside for them .

Ausar makes the most sense next to Cade and Ivey. Big athletic wing connecter. Someone that can actually play off ball and play elite defense. And he fits that high character they've been drafting. Amen has superstar potential so I could see them drafting him and just figuring it out later. Houston favoring Whitmore seems to be gaining more steam

Want nothing to do with Walker. If we draft him they better not resign Stewart. Last thing we need is another 4/5 that can’t shoot. Not comparing him to Stewart as a player but their role on this team would be the same. Just don’t see a clear upgrade

And 5 is too high for Hendricks. He’s a need pick. Lower ceiling, high floor. When your worst team in NBA you go BPA

What about Ausar shooting makes you think he can be successful off ball next two ivey and cade

Ausar unlike Amen has solid mechanics on his shot. His 3 pt percentages has gradually improved over time. OTE uses NBA 3pt line and he shot similarly to Whitmore at college 3

Thank you @FukkaPaidEmail for posting the mailbag questions. I cancelled my athletic sub after James c00ned it up after his cohosts racist tweets leaked.

I'm starting to really like the Idea of Ausar if that ends up the pick. Amen is the higher floor/potential but I don't know if he exactly FITS with Cade and Ivey. Cade or Amen would have to be the SF of the future and I would rather plug in Ausar who has the defensive passion and already used to being a support to his mostly on-ball brother.
Something I can't get over is the wingspan differential of Whitmore and the twins. They're the same height but Whitmores Wingspan is 6'8 while the twins have a 7'0 wingspan. Defensively that will be a key factor despite Cams insane combine numbers. the short arms will project Cam will be the better shooter too. Amen/Ausar and Cam would all be the best scenario for Detroit. I dont love Anthony Black at 5 but hes a DAWG and I could live with it.

The Jarace Walker talk makes no sense. Detroit doesn't need another 6'7 PF that isnt extraordinarily better than Stewart. If i was told hed project as a SF im all for it but his college tape shows he does not like contact. Among the lack of fit, he's not a top 5 pick.
amen doesn’t have a higher floor than Ausar. In fact Amen might have the lowest floor of any of the top 6 players(not including Wemby. Dirstegard Wemby for this entire post). He just has the highest ceiling. The highest floor is Walker. He’s the most nba ready out that group. But the most boring or the picks also. He’s the Scottie Barnes of this group. And raptor fans already talking about trading Barnes because he doesn’t have too much more of a ceiling to reach. They don’t believe he’s going to get much better than he already is. He was a great pick for a team that’s already competing because of his high floor. That’s what Walker compares to. His draft comp is Milsap. Ain’t no lottery getting excited about drafting Paul Milsap

If we trade for Karl that 5th pick gone as well with another key player Hell yeah!! But Cade, Ivey, and Duren is not on the trade block, everyone else is!!

Would be happy with Cam or Ausar. But I think this draft is gonna be crazy after the 3rd pick, with trades and what not

Is this you saying signing Monty was a bad thing?

Isaac Okoro went 5th in 2020 and shot 28% from 3 in college. Ausar shot 30% in OTE (uses the nba 3 line.) Okoro is shooting close to league average on low volume (36% / 2.3 attempts) If Ausar can reach that on 4-6 attempts, he's well worth the 5th pick. Ausar has great measurables: 6'7/7'0 Wingspan and is a great fit that identifies the teams biggest defensive need: 1-3 defense switch ability. He will guard the best wing night in night out and has a dawg mentality.

I've come around on Walker a bit. Hes the least sexy pick but will help the team in his unique way. He has 3-5 Switch ability but thats as much of a need as someone guarding SG/SF exclusively. If they went for a PF I still like Hendricks' strengths more than Walkers . The passing and connectivity is cool but I value Hendricks Shooting and Helpside Defense way more. Pistons have done well the last two drafts identifying who to build the team around offensively so luckily they don't NEED an Amen to fall and force a fit there. Whitmore is the best of both worlds in terms of drafting for fit AND upside.

Amen wouldn’t have made sense with Cade already there. That trade for 6 and 11 looks like the pistons best bet. Can get Anthony Black and Whitmore
