Seems like Gores is meddling again, let Weaver pick the coach, whether it’s Lee or Ollie. If it’s a bad hire, then Weaver got to take the L too
Nah, this one of them times I agree with Gores. If dude is the best coach out there in their opinion then go get him. Don't just let Weaver bring in his boy on the homie hookup when who you want is sitting right there and is proven.

Good Stuff, I wonder if that means the #5 is out of here as Monty will probably be expected to turn this around sooner than later.

I hope not. I want them to draft that player and really build a young core together. They need a good vet to teach them how to be pros, on and off the court, but it's no reason to make rash decisions just yet when these guys haven't even played together.

I don’t know what that has to do with the Pistons wanting him. It’s his life.

If someone is gonna pay me $10 mil a year on top of what the suns are paying me, count me in. Most people only show up to work for the money anyway :manny:

To your point, he took a job in Phoenix that didn’t work out so he was fired. He’ll have a bigger parachute if he gets fired after he accepts this job.
I guess he took the deal.

Is Monty's heart (no pun intended) in this, or did he just take the money, didn't he turn down the job initially? :francis:

He turned down milwaukee and Detroit and all jobs because he was considering a year off but liked both jobs. I think he should be fine it’s not like he got his heart broken in Phoenix plus this deal is 6 years+ and his youngest kid is in the 6th grade. It’ll give them stability at least until they graduate and then generational wealth. If we had wemby I’d think he would have took the job for less but that’s a different timeline
