Drake’s biggest issue right now is that the entire industry basically gave him a “f u c k you” with awarding Kendrick in the general field. The second EVER rap song to win Record and Song of The Year is accusing Drake of pedophilia and the biggest stars in the world ( Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Sabrina Carpenter) stood up on their feet and bellowed “Trying to strike a cord and its probably A MINOOOORRRRR!!!” Then the biggest black artist of modern times Beyonce got and DANCED to it while her daughter sang along to “Certified lover boy CERTIFIED PEDOPHILES!”

This proves Drake has ZERO industry support. And he’s an artist heavily reliant on industry support. He’s never put out an album with no big time features. His latest singles for the last few years are heavily reliant on big named features. He’s got no Future verses he can rely on. No Metro beats to fall back on. The only artists willing to stand by him publicly are Lil Yatchty, who sucks and J.Cole, whose prepping to retire. Oh yea and Thugger, who can’t outsell the guy who snitched on him and told the world YSL was a gang that needed to be silenced.

Secondly, he’s at war with his own record label, that happens to be THE biggest label around. They can bury him under a mountain of shelves OR they can just refuse to give him the promotion and extra sales boast they give their top tier artists watch him do 200k first week which WOULD be a flop for him.

When Jay lost to Nas the industry at large didn’t entirely shyt on him. Matter of fact they tried to help him. Angie Martinez is on record on how much Jay losing hurt her personally. The diss jockey of the biggest rap radio station in the Country is on RECORD stating this. Hot 97 banned Nas from hanging a Jay-Z robot and setting it on fire at Summer Jam, which would’ve been the Hip Hop equivalent of the Superbowl, because Dame Dash made a call to complain. The NFL just said Kendrick can do whatever the fukk he wants.

When Ja lost to 50 the industry at large didn’t entirely shyt on him. Dude was working with R.Kelly, Jadakiss, and Fat Joe right afterwards. The feds came and fukked Murda Inc up and thats what ended Ja’s chapter.

Drake has more than an uphill battle on his hands. He’s got no allies of note, no industry support, and his record label is more inclined to see him fail than succeed.

Its over for him. Dude is finished.

Drake was probably a fucc nikka behind the scenes and most rappers kept quiet because they needed hits….

He should have took Wayne’s advice to be himself.

Even Beyonce and Jay knew to have allies behind the scenes outside the booth and inside it.

At least Ja went out like a man…

Drake went out like a hoe.

Yeah he’s dead, no longer a debate.

He’s officially a legacy artist now whose streaming numbers from his past catalog will keep his cult stans moist and disillusioned from base reality.

I really dont know what you think would do to prove you are not a pedophile.

Sit and think about that for a second. Seriously.

Do yall really just him him to be a barred out rapper for the rest of his career? I mean, I’ve been waiting since Comeback Season but… :snoop:

Jay and Beyonce killed their competition in every form. Ask Keri Hilson and Amerie or the countless instances of waste Jay laid to his opponents.

This is a bad example. They didn’t have allies, they scared people into submission. They don’t have allies, they have people cowered in fear of retribution. The support they have is outright adoration.

Just saw Kanye sum it up well: Drake is dead until he’s not dead. All it takes is a hit and big album to be back and he’s capable of both. Whereas we all witnessed Ja flop after the battle, then he got a couple tepid hits and disappeared from earth.

I think Drake took a lot of damage in the beef but I won’t say he’s finished until he flops with an album.

Ja had HUGE singles while all that was goin on tho so idk if i agree

All it really takes is for the industry to turn back and love him again. All a sudden errbody'll like him again lol

People are fake as hell

There's "industry" and then there's "industry" though. The suits don't fukk with Drake but he still has a lot of rappers and hit makers in his corner. I agree he has struggled to get a big hit without features but still...a hit is a hit. Until he flops with an album I'm not gonna say he's done. Even with the label no longer smashing the button for him.

When Jay lost he was still the bigger rapper with more hits. And after the BP2 fiasco he got back to making hits and never looked back. Obviously Drake isn't Jay but still. The L doesn't end you if you get hits.
