How can be a phenomenon type of album and it’s not even platinum 2 months after release?
what? excuse me?

It's the only album on the best streamed albums ever list with less than 15 tracks...Billboard confirmed we have never seen an album with only 12 tracks performing like GNX...

We're talking about an album with only 12 tracks, with no physical release yet...

It also has the universal acclaim from critics, it's also a strong contender for AOTY on end year lists and quite honestly, it's everywhere. This is definitely a phenomenon type of album.

This is something only an ignorant would say (not being harsh here, I was one as well).

This is pretty much a small album available on streaming only as physical cd's will only be shipped in February. It's been confirmed by streaming services that the more tracks your album have, the more units it will move.
Yet, this shyt is doing massive numbers with way less songs than the typical streaming machine albums. HDD did a calculation and figured each and every song on GNX got more streams than any other rap album before it.

Lamar an average of 27m streams per song, the previous record was 23m streams per song for Certified Lover Boy by Drake, in 2021.

It had a less impressive 1st week, because it had way less songs available. But it keeps pushing between 70 and 100k a week more than a month later. Even tied a Beatles and Taylor Swift record by having 5 songs in the top 5 of the hot 100 :why:

You can't ask a 12 tracks album available for streaming only to go platinum after a month when its physically impossible to do so. It's already breaking records lol, and dude didn't even include NLU to boost its streams.

You’re talking as if it would’ve gone triple platinum already if physicals were released first day - physicals account for 5% of overall sales at most and that in itself is driven by vinyl which nobody buys except for a niche audience.

Digital downloads were also available first day which last time I checked, account for one sale so the two formats which would account for 95% of sales were available first week. So again i ask - how can an album that’s not even platinum yet be a phenom? fukk the number of tracks as well. It was a hyperbolic statement to over exaggerate….Motherfukkers claiming ‘Phenom’ like the album is doing Adele or Taylor Swift numbers - GTFOH loool

The number of tracks does matter, matter of fact, it's the most important aspect of streaming, according to chartdata, billboard and spotify lol. This is the reason why everybody is making big albums or including previous songs that had nice numbers onto their albums :dead:

Kendrick is legit doing numbers that are unheard of for a rapper, with this kind of release. Even those reporting official sales and numbers are praising this album for being a phenom :childplease:
