I remember Bow Wow's run. He was a kid who made PG music, but was actually getting played alongside Ja Rule, Ludacris, and Mystikal during that era. He had a few songs that were really dope.

Bow Wow’s 99-01 was comparable to some major artists back in the day. Dude was everywhere and had multiple hits. It wasn’t until he started wearing a grill and getting tatted up that his popularity dipped. Started with that horrific single with Birdman (“Let’s Get Down”). That song got by purely on the Bow Wow name alone and nothing else. It charted higher than some of his previous songs, but it wasn’t getting nearly the amount of love as stuff like “Bounce With Me” and “Puppy Love”. He had a good rebound Wanted and Price of Fame though. Jermaine Dupri was key for him, which is why despite the high sales, nobody cared for Unleashed.
