Social media made rap battles a lot weirder and a lot less fun. But, there's no doubt the Jay/Nas thing, as exhilirating as it was in real time, had some weirdos attached. I remember people saying on SOHH they wouldn't listen to Nas until he responded to Takeover.
Like it was never "just about the music", but now it's a whole different level. Feels like weirdo shyt to me, to post on Twitter and call people rapists and pedophiles. Dissect people's personal relationships, come up with fan fiction theories. It's fair for Kendrick to say it, A MINOR, and like the song, but it's different to actually research it, and come up with these delusional talking points about morality.
it's really all social media. it's the structure of it that encourages insane behavior.
