Drake gave Dot a lifeline. He def underestimated his opponent but allowing to give Kendrick his biggest buzz since DAMN off a diss verse on a song on one of his most frequent collaborators in Future was a mistake. An album buzz solely based on nikkas dissing you and the industry showing signs of turning on you should’ve had him moving different
I said it at the time, he should’ve never responded. There was no upside for Drake even tho I didn’t think anything of value was loss

But where Kendrick’s career is From MM to GNX is solely because of using Drake. Now Kendrick has to become More than NLU. That requires to actually collaborate with artist, kill features, make slaps and not hide behind mystique but he won’t

I respect this.. but I don’t agree.. again, my opinion. I just think his next release needs to be more in line with Damn, with sprinkles of GNX. What I’m saying is, all he really needs to do is continue what he’s doing. I don’t think he necessarily needs to do features like that. Pick and choose. There’s something to an artist who doesn’t over saturate himself in todays climate, as long as the releases are quality.

There’s no such thing as over saturation imo but KendRick does need to provide a stimulus to some of the dues that stood next to him but he won’t.

Dot also leeched off SZA success with SOS. Which had a way larger impact than Morale. When you look at it objectively. Distance himself from TDE in the morale era and had to go back.

Yall nikkas do know that Kendrick was coming off an Arena that grossed over $100 million before the beef right
:gucci:

Did the beef elevate him? Yes!
Did he need a lifeline for his career? Hell no!
Kendrick got 3 albums in the top 100. Morale not being is just a mere example of how that album didn’t resonate.
