There's no way Drake could have anticipated he'd lose a rap battle to a song that would become the biggest track of the year (and be performed at the Super Bowl). Entering the battle wasn't the mistake. Not taking Kendrick seriously as a threat was the mistake. We've had months of people crying about Drake being the victim since then but let's not forget: for a couple weeks this nikka was clowning Kendrick, daring him to drop a song, alluding to having a career ending nuclear bomb in his pocket, etc. Only to get gunned up and clapped quick.

Let's flip this around. If Drake had won the battle he would have put a major dent on Kendrick's record. A decade of antagonizing the singing nikka only to get bodied by him? On the tail end of him releasing his worst album (Mr Morale)? That would be a career altering L for Kendrick and crown Drake as the guy. It was worth the risk to enter the battle. He simply didn't consider the stakes or take his opponent seriously. Literally the same mistake he made against Pusha, btw.
Drake gave Dot a lifeline. He def underestimated his opponent but allowing to give Kendrick his biggest buzz since DAMN off a diss verse on a song on one of his most frequent collaborators in Future was a mistake. An album buzz solely based on nikkas dissing you and the industry showing signs of turning on you should’ve had him moving different

So finally got a chance to download and listen (mp3 gang never loses in the streaming era), and here are my thoughts:

- 21 tracks was way too much. Drayoncé has the same problem Snoop has with trying to cram as many tracks as possible when it doesn't need it.
- The beat switches are fukking annoying. No need for it to happen in nearly every other track. "Small Town Fame" clocks in at under 2:30 and there was zero need for a beat switch
- If Drayoncé used the beat for Nokia that starts at 1:35 for the entire 4 minutes song, that would be a hit. Everything before the first 95 seconds is trash; after that I can't deny that was a hot track. Save that Tik Tok shyt for an interlude or something because it completely ruined what could have been one of his biggest hits.
- Gimme a Hug is creepy as hell given what we now know about Drayoncé and Aaron Hall.
- Pimmie's Dilemma sounded like it was recorded in a narrow hallway somewhere. No idea why that couldn't have been recorded properly in a studio

Album is trash. 13 of the 21 tracks (first six, Lasers, and the final six) sound similar, and the ones that do stick out are either complete trash (Meet Your Padre), mixed terribly (Pimmie's Dilemma), or are ruined by trying to go viral on Tik Tok instead of making an actual good song ("Nokia"). People pointed out this should have been an EP and they're correct. A full LP would have probably been a lot better in 2013 or 2014, but in 2025, shyt should have been an EP.

You can tell it's trash because of how defensive everyone is. You have Aubrey's Angels in here calling everyone who thinks this album sucks a K-Bot and you even have one of the artists saying:

when the reality is this album, at best, is a terrible attempt at LoFi Chillhop. Better odds of a chick from the club falling asleep to this than wanting to fukk.
What’s a mp3?
