post Take Care Drake is very over-rated.

I never expected him to take a social stance, its not really his job. I'm like "just rap good nikka." But he failed at that.

Now dont even get me started on this latest piece of garbage he recently released.

I never seen people get so excited about music they never heard.

Everyone is like he bout to do 500k....uh did you hear it first?

when did a project that no one heard that sells a lot = classic? :wtf:

fukk him. I'm hating until he drops good music again. Till then I am looking for one of the other light skinned brothers to take that spot....

Kirko, J.Carr, Tyga, J. Cole, Quincy, Masspike...etc

where yall at?
:dead:

you mean all the clones? :heh:

1. Content doesn't mean shyt to me as an entertainer. Cause J Cole throwing nikkas crumbs on social issues doesn't make him a better rap artist
2. Drake is a great rap artist. He's good at rapping. He is skilled at putting words together. He is skilled at making melodies. He is skilled at creating narratives. He is skilled in creating content.

If you wanna talk about some political shyt or if the message matters so much, then go read a book or ask dude to give a lecture.

Music ain't for everyone.

Pac made good songs. The message wouldn't have mattered since the music was good.

DOn't confuse MUSICALITY with content.

And being "good at rapping" doesn't mean that would translate into him making dope concious songs. Let me quote you, again:

"Drake and Kendrick have two different functions...and lets not front like if Drake went conscious like Kendrick, Kendrick would be out of a job."

You see, its stupid shyt like this that doesn't help. Whenever I see anything Drake related, you are always the one that goes completely overboard, to the point even some of your fellow Drake stans gotta tell you :whoa:

Because I legitimately think people dont give Drake enough credit or respect. Period.

Drake is MORE LYRICALLY DEXTERIOUS in flipping words creatively and putting them together than I've EVER heard from Kendrick

Kendrick is a spitter...but he doesn't really do much more than surface level communication. Drake has layers and entendres that I haven't seen anyone do since Outkast, Hov, or anyone in that similar vein.

Dude is truly and seriously that talented.

The consciousness talk is lame, but I can't relate to his music. He's good for a nice flow to a nice beat whenever you're in a (swag) mood.

J. Cole is a top-3 hottest right now with Kendrick and Drake, if you're considering the new-generation.

The wildest part is I actually like dude when he decides to rap. 5 am in Toronto was beastly! So was "whatever" pm in dallas (can't remember the time :pachaha: ) Dude used to be really witty and I was genuinely excited when he would put out new music or new features. He carried YM while Wayne was in jail (btw, sorry OP but Wayne is EASILY the most overrated rapper in the last 15 years). The problem is he now has been infected with the snoop/50 virus. Mad success and mad accolades has made this nikka MAD lazy and uncreative! In my opinion it started with the song Muhfukkas Never Loved Us! That is the LAZIEST song from a top rapper, and let's face it he is, that I've ever heard in my life!!! And dudes was LOVING that billshyt:trash:! Then he moved forward with that non-rapping, conversational flow that totally negates his greatest strength which is being melodious. Then this last terrible ass mixtape took the cake for me! And his stans are THE MOST ANNOYING EVER!!! When the dude puts out wack music they sit there and talk about how hot he is and that he got nominated for a Grammy for a throw away track...man GTFOH!!! :camby:

I did like his verse on "Only" though.

I don't agree that he's nice like that at all. I mean dude can spit some bars when he is ready, but nah. Lets put that to the side for a minute....

In the same vein as your previous post, just because Drake can "flip words" it doesn't mean he can hold a lot of listeners attention. His subject matter is garbage, monotonous and repetitive. How many times can you keep crying over bytches on a dam record? shyt is just way too moist, but he makes them shyts into club bangers and got people wilding to this shyt :russ:

You may think he is under rated, but the point of this thread is he is over rated, which he is. You demonstrate that, perhaps to balance the scales (in your opinion).

Drake's a good rapper..he has a lot of charisma on his records..but in real life he's a corny faqqit.

This basically sums it up perfectly in a nutshell. Nothing more needs to be said in this thread. Drake is a capable rapper, with charisma, that makes some catchy tunes but his music is devoid of substance and he's a cornball, simp sucka. If I was a mod I personally woulda banned the f@ggot that created the thread that tried to equate his "struggle" with Pac's (@Xtraz2 ). And fvck any n!gga that even remotely co-signed that bullsh!t.

Absolutely. Drake isn't that nice of an MC. He's just a capable rapper that has the ability to say some clever sh!t here and there on his records and has a good enough flow. But never should he be in conversations with the lyrical avant garde. Lol at this n!gga being better than J. Cole as a rapper. And yes, he most definitely is at the point now where he's overrated. Very much so now. The dude just put out to of the most unspectacular projects I ever heard consecutively by a major hip hop artist and a good portion of his fans know it but continue to front. Nothing Was The Same and If You're Reading This It's Too Late has at the most 4 or 5 songs from both albums that's even is worth going back to.
