I agree I know it's an unpopular opinion but I feel that Drake is very overrated. He has a lot of talent some nice bars and picks some dope beats but he waste it with using annoying flows and nonsensical lyrics. Drake could do so much more but why when your fanbase will support and praise whatever shyt you put out so I'm not even mad at him.

People hype him up like this nikka has some profound classical material every time something new comes out, with songs that sound damn near identical. Really Drake is a GOAT because of some love ballads, catchy songs, thot anthems, drizzled with some clever punch lines?

I'm not saying he needs to be some social activist cause I don't expect that from every rapper but with all these dead black children who support his shyt and he barely say anything about the community you profit from.

nikkas have to rap about struggle to be certified? If the nikka don't know about the struggle, that's not his fault. Drake makes music about his own life and people from all walks of life can recognize what he's going through. I don't always share the same sentiments as him, and often laugh at his attempts to come off as a tough guy, but I think he still has a penchant for making decent music and picking quality production. I think people that hate Drake are just miserable with themselves. I'm not a fan or even a stan, nor do I think he has over the top talent. However, I can recognize that he's taken over the game and every verse he does, does actually sound like Drake featuring Drake. These are just facts.

I don't listen to his music :ohhh:
Crazy right?
nikkas need father figures instead of looking for rappers to be them.
I don't look for anything out my rappers but music
These nikkas ain't political activist so stop expecting them to be.

@blackslash is on record saying Drake is gay, and he has highly suspect tendencies and is a bytch with confused sexuality so it's no surprise he will defend the man who he calls "champagne papi" and "young angel" to the death. That's why he likes Drake, so he can fantasise about other men, if that's the case at least be real about it and quit the bullshyt.

Drake's a good rapper..he has a lot of charisma on his records..but in real life he's a corny faqqit.

He's following Jay's formula..telling you he's the best on every album..dumb people will eventually believe it.n :yeshrug:

I can't fukk with this dude at all.

Here's the thing, plenty of rappers ain't conscious or whatever, but this dude is just straight corny to me. Can't relate to his music at all.

I'll be honest and say I haven't listened to one of his albums in its entirety, so i have no deep knowledge of his music. I tried but threw the shyt out the window around the half way point. But what I have heard, I find terrible. And when he tries to act tough on record, that shyt is so far removed from reality that it's funny to me. He doesn't sound believable.

Even the names his fans call him sound fruity "champagne papi" "young angel" and whatever else:huhldup:

There was an actual thread on his best name the other day :mjlol:

Now I know a lot of gall ain't gonna like this, and it's just my opinion...and I'll admit he makes some songs I enjoy...but really there is nothing special about this cat at all. The only reason he gets as much shine as he does is because of his degrassi high appearance and his lil wayne/young money/cash money affiliation...As well, considering how absolutely TERRIBLE the talent pool is for rappers these days of course someone like him is gonna stand.

Personally (I'm getting my Lord Jomar on here)...i can't relate to this cat at all. There is no difference between him and the rich white boy in the burbs puffin blunts of loud in his daddy's beemer. He has no connection to the black struggle. He basically a white boy and a culture vulture. He makes music for rich white boys and gets them all geeked up and feeling themselves cause hes half whute/jewish but half black so he gives em a pass to say the word "n!gga" and white girls like him cause of the same reason and they would never fukk with full black rappers loke that. He makes songs for women in failed relationships and men that have become completely p*ssywhipped. He'll never be seen as a legend in my book simply because his material makes no impact and he has no meaningful songs. He'll never have a "dear mama" or "brenda's got a baby" and frankly it's disrespectful to even compare this soft ass cupcake ass nikka to Pac. Drake will never be a quarter of the man Pac was.

And when Mike Brown, kajime powell, tamir rice, John crawford, Eric garner, akai Gurley got gunned down by racist cops...where the fukk was this nikka? Nowhere to be found. At least J.Cole (a significantly better rapper and fellow biracial cat) was out there protesting and has shown numerous times he is down for the struggle. Drake just uses black culture to prop himself up and make himself look cool but he ain't black in my book. And if he was full black he'd be the biggest house n!gga EVER.

So, I tried not to make this a hate thread cause I didn't want to come out to be too biased but whatever. fukk Drake and everything he stands for.
1. Content doesn't mean shyt to me as an entertainer. Cause J Cole throwing nikkas crumbs on social issues doesn't make him a better rap artist
2. Drake is a great rap artist. He's good at rapping. He is skilled at putting words together. He is skilled at making melodies. He is skilled at creating narratives. He is skilled in creating content.

If you wanna talk about some political shyt or if the message matters so much, then go read a book or ask dude to give a lecture.

Music ain't for everyone.

Pac made good songs. The message wouldn't have mattered since the music was good.

DOn't confuse MUSICALITY with content.

I could never get into Drake's music at all. When I heard comeback season/room for improvement im like ok this dude has a nice flow with empty bars. Then I heard so far gone and all the simpin that followed and I saw the transition from empty bar flow to simpin women. The shyt I dont get is how everybody was hyping up his mediocre singing plus his mediocre rapper and praising that shyt like he's the 2nd coming.

I'm like dude he should be thanking Andre 3000, Lauryn Hill, Mos Def, and especially Phonte. Phonte is the dude he jacked his whole style from. Then he jumped on a record with him and jean grae to gain that fan base before he moved on to simpin and actin like he's thugged out with goons.

Cant take dude serious at all he dropped some lame as albums with the illest production that carries him. Shyt Kendrick got the best (subliminal shot verse) on his Take Care album. No wonder he was so jealous of the control verse. N1gga is way too emotional for no reason.

Right now out of him Cole and Logic. Since we talkin about mixed rappers that harmonize ima go with Logic. I dont like him doin that style but if I had to pick a choice it would be him. Dude got countless flows, bars, and production. I cant relate to some if his stuff but I feel wheres hes coming from. If all ya n1ggas is praising Drake give Logic's Under Pressure album a listen. On a technical level I put Logic right next to Kendrick Phonte and Lupe. Drake cant hold a candle to none of these n1ggas honestly. Just my opinion. Awaits the hate.

Great post. That's the thing, Drake makes that corny p*ssy music. I don't relate to that. You rarely if ever hear him talking about the black struggle like you said cause he's not really a part of that despite his race. We all know there are some mixed race people who are basically white culturally and he's 1 of them. It's not like you have to be a 1 certain way to be black but it's clear in his specific case he has no genuine concern or care for black people, he is in no genuine way part of the struggle. He's part of something else, using connections to infiltrate and play both sides of the fence. There's actually a white blood privilege going on with Drake but motherfukkers too dumb to notice.

He does make p*ssywhipped sissy music. That's the thing, he isn't capable of those songs cause he hasn't been through that, he was a privileged child actor talking about he starting from the bottom lol. You can compare Drake to Pac, and should, because it shows how shameful and pathetic Drake is.

Drake is nowhere cause he gives NO fukks about that. He knows what his fan base is, a bunch of shallow sellout motherfukkers so he will be very cautious to rock the boat in any way. Another bullshyt "safe" rapper that they can use to take the edge and rebelliousness out of black people, and try to get the world to view black people as just that. Like Drake's the representation. J Cole is a good example, he actually has some content, Drake is a pathetic noise of nothingness.

fukk Drake, and everything he stands for. More people need to start speaking out about bullshyt like him.
How do you FOR A FACT know Drake's opinion on social issues?

J Cole makes a half-assed lyric about it and now he speaks for me?

nikka stop looking for role models in rapppers

The OP reeks of a fatherless nikka who probably has no job and aint even in school and is a failure

:scusthov:
Not to mention OP was just posting about how he literally is broke and has NO women.

That shyt isn't healthy...but he's over here hating on artists who don't speak on social issues. :snoop:

dumb smart square ass community college dropout nikkas like legacy and the ruler love to ride each others dikks. In order to act like their irrelevant ass opinions shared by a minuscule proportion of rap fans is actually something more than old ass flabby and sick birds dikkriding something they are too off brand to understand.

Drake is out here creating music to fill a certain lane. And he speaks on things from his perspective.

J Cole wouldn't even put this so called "pro-black song" he did on letterman on his album but rather chose to do a one-off performance of it and even then, since he includes a few lines about "being black" on the album that therefore he's a better "artist"

Sorry.

This is ENTERTAINMENT.

The music comes first.

The message comes second.

If you want me to love you more because you're socially conscious, then you need to make better MUSIC cause if your shyt sucks, not only will I never listen again, i'll wonder why you didn't learn to WRITE BLOGS or give lectures or make books.

If the content matters so much to you, go be a poet...but don't call it "music"

Even Gil Scott Heron learned the principles of music and creatively weaved messages into INCREDIBLE sonic landscapes....

This whole "consciousness" argument is a deflection from having to engage the fact that these so-called "aware" celebrities not only don't give a fukk about you, but they're pandering to people to try and get them to like them by pretending to be "up on game" when in reality they're doing just as much as the artist who isn't saying shyt at all.
