Drake Initiates Legal Action Against UMG

This is shaping up to be an interesting case. Here’s my takeaway from Drake’s lawsuit against UMG:

Drake claims UMG (through Interscope) used shady tactics to boost Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” while hurting his own reputation and devaluing his catalog. Allegedly, they used bots, pay-to-play deals, and heavy promotion to inflate Kendrick’s success and undercut Drake.

So much of one to where bro mother was involved and wanted him to have extra protection literally the day he was shot and killed due to 600 Breezy (Chicago/ OVO artist) announcing he was in the city stating he was was strapped riding around and his mother was extremely concerned for him. The lawyer had real reason to subpoena Drake and it wasn’t some I want attention and want to bring a celebrity into it shyt. Before the man died these are the people he was beefing with. The lawyer at no point is stating for certain Drake is responsible either, but he is saying the judge interfered with this case, because there is valid evidence to atleast call him into question to look into things further. But the judge was concerned with Drakes celebrity status and dismissed it

By the way Drake fans I am not saying Drake did it or if I believe it, and neither am I hoping dude go to jail for some shyt he didn’t do if he was not involved. shyt is just rap at the end of the day. I’m just posting what’s going on. But so far this is crazy. I’m one of the people who called the lawyer just seeking attention at first. Biggest thing of note is Drake associates were seen in XXX neighborhood threatening him days before the murder. And of course Drake has lyrics that seem to mock and reference his murder. Edit: ok this shyt really not a joke or a weak case by the lawyer. There are real fukking connections here. One of the killers father is a criminal who is a guns dealer and has ties in Toronto. Judge would not allow him to cross examine further bro a killer, fukk him and all, but he actually did not have a fair trial. And it’s weird shyt the judge did to suppress information. what a 360 in such a short span of time for drake

That's why Kendrick always had plans to take his head off and will never accept a truce. Aubrey has done too many shady things behind the scenes. He's a cowardly piece of shyt.

Because he’s either a real scumbag and actually got ol boy hit or he’s a scumbag and a complete p*ssy for bragging like he actually did it.

All the more reason to justify Kendrick drawing a line. This clown is in character enough to at best try and take credit for that murder to look tough. No matter how p*ssy he is personally crash dummies are a dime a dozen.

Barring some sort of contractual provision prohibiting the label from promoting another artist dissing Drake, why would that be wrong?

Aside from the inherent conflict of interest in a record label having more than one artist, wouldn’t it just be a shrewd business tactic?
