What's with the title, I don't get it. Do any of the tracks reflect on the mixtape title at all?

shyt is a nice collection of songs, question is where Drake can go from here.
Has he flexed everything he has or is he just warming up? Anyways almost every song is dope, for what it is, suprisingly cohesive for being a "collection of songs"/mixtape.

just warming up breh...his albums have been pretty cohesive for the most part...this is just a collection of songs to keep the streets fed

they say its talking about his cash money deal...since technically now hes a free agent because this is the last album he had to release on cash money

if youre reading this its too late...meaning, im putting this album out on some beyonce shyt, because you aint giving me the new contract/money i need...or i just dont wanna be here anymore...deals over...its too late to negotiate now

This is clearly a contractual obligation album that separates himself publicly from his prior relationship with young money/cash money. He's been establishing the ovo brand from time.. Its crazy how much attention drake can garner off of throwaway tracks that are taking jabs at his enemies..:heh:

"Views from the 6" will show you drizzy w/o the leash :smugdraper:

How could he drop an album on Cash Money without Baby knowing about it though :dwillhuh:

If it's that easy why doesn't WAyne just do it

Perhaps his deal was better and all he needed was the cosign from the distribution (umg).
And given that he's planning to resign to UMG, I'd assume that they would like to keep him happy.

these threads are always amusing.

people jump the gun on things, people too eager.
people going over the top with the bashing, people too much with the praise.

too early for me to give my main thoughts on it but the mixtape has a real between albums feel to it.
seems like he had a bunch of joints from stash when he was doing NWTS, spruced them up along with the songs he's done all the way up to now and put it together in a nicely presented package to tide people over..hopefully the sound evolves on his next album and "that" flow is left in 2014.

from the music and the little mini movie, seems like he's got a little case of melancholy.

i know it won't happen because both are dropping their actual albums this year...can we leave the goofy Drake/Kendrick argument in 2013 ?
it's boring and tedious..the Jay and Nas shyt been going more than a decade and it never got as tiresome as that manufactured "beef" by stans wanting to one up each other.

i always end up missing posting in these long ass album threads when a "big" artist drops because i like to sit on it before giving my thoughts on it.

He's peaked and there's nowhere to go from here..... Next thing he'll be sharking Thugga flows :usherlol:

There's no beef...it's just how music is ....ask ya parents about Mike vs Prince or O'Jays vs Temptations...Beatles vs Stones.....

It's mainstream glamor rap vs conscious hiphop.....

He'll probably wait after Kanyes dropped and go against or after Kendrick though
