The album could’ve been better but as a lover of music I’m starting to appreciate it as an attempt to push the game forward. shyt has been so stale for a while now. nikkas been making the same trap song since 2012-14 with no end in sight. Maybe the next person to follow his lead will get it right and this flop won’t be in vain
We also want fun music back .

Exactly as @Ribbs stated, y’all have knowledge of nothing but opinions on everything. That is demonstrably untrue, and it is not even hard to search out the stuff that is not that since it is also chart topping. Y’all are making it worse by trying to have an unimpressive album be a statement on elitism and pretense. There is nothing about that project that is at the vanguard of anything. shyt, if you really want to take it there, Lizzo’s new song is “pushing the game forward” way more successfully than whatever Drake just put out. You guys always pretend that songs such as that do not exist, though

Sure, there's various types of music being made. But the dominant sound that's in the streets, in the clubs, favored among the masses is trap and rage beats. nikkas ain't playing whatever music you're referring to at parties, cookouts, clubs and events. Trap music is the dominant sound of hip-hop and has been since the mid-2010s. I can't be mad at Drake for trying to shift that

I respect someone changing their lane, if they decided to actually envelop themselves in the culture itself. I ain't seen dude in Chicago or Detriot, there were barely any collabs on the album too. Like do you care about what you put out, or you trying to release a vibe , or you trying to co-op culture, and say you are drastically changing the music. The culture been here.

Breh. This shyt been exist. Rapping over NJ House Beats is what NJ Trap music largely is. Which makes sense because trap music’s history is in electronic dance music.

Drake ain’t doing anything but biting, riding a wave and not biggin up or featuring those taking the actual risk to push this music forward.

Giving us light skinned nikkas a bad name, as usual.

Drake experimented and failed, Good try but he should have just made a pure R&B album since he wants to sing fully, and why are all Major artist releasing mid albums since the start of this decade ??? What's going on ?? Drake mid, Kendrick mid, Kanye mid, Cole mid 🤦
