The album could’ve been better but as a lover of music I’m starting to appreciate it as an attempt to push the game forward. shyt has been so stale for a while now. nikkas been making the same trap song since 2012-14 with no end in sight. Maybe the next person to follow his lead will get it right and this flop won’t be in vain

How is making a shyttier version of music that artists have been doing for DECADES “pushing the game forward”?

Because he's a leader of the culture whether we like it or not. People follow Drake's lead. Someone posted a tweet by Jazz Cartier saying all 3 studios he went to today had rap producers trying to make house. I agree nikkas did this wave better than him 100x already but our culture has been trapped in rage beats and trap music for years

So its going to be a bunch of copy cat producers/artists following the blueprint of the shyttier version of music that artists have been doing for decades?

That doesn’t sound like its going to be good for the culture at ALL. Just sounds like we’re about to be inundated into an era of watered down shyt.

I feel you but the way shyt's going, it was either gonna be this or another 5 years of fake Future/Lil Baby nikkas and we don't need that. There's still hope that someone comes along and does what Drake tried to do but better

...nothing about this album is pushing the game forward; hiphop and house music, mixing/crossing is nothing new or groundbreaking

I’m aware of all these songs and more. Vic Mensa made a better house/hip hop song than the entire Drake album. But the fact remains for someone in Drake’s position to drop this album is a risk and will influence more people than the songs you posted. Kanye just dropped two clout chasing albums back to back with Baby Keem and Migos. Somebody needed to take a risk
