:dwillhuh: Rebirth was a great (good enough) album and a clear departure/experiment for Wayne.

If Drake had said "I'ma release a house album" he might actually be getting a pass for this sub mediocre project. He probably didn't have any features because nobody wanted to be on this shyt.
To me Rebirth was straight trash after Carter 3. I'm over here trying to pinpoint the moment where it started to go downhill for Wayne. Clearly the fall off didn't happen overnight, it took many years. At one point he was untouchable, by far the biggest rapper out and then he was fizzling out. I don't think the C5 delay caused the fall off. The way I remember it we didn't hear anything new from him after Rebirth artistically. C4 blew, but the singles were mainstream garbage made to get as much attention as possible, in no way authentic. Artists that are on a clear downward path usually try to go back to the original formula, but slowly realize that no one cares. Then they try to get features, but that shyt doesn't work like it should either. Drake is on thin ice. He exposed his flaws for the world to see with this "experimentation". Seems like he might be causing his own downfall to me.

Aubrey let his fellow mulatto, Logic, put out an album superior to his.

He really half-assed this project, and it shows. Some of these joints could’ve benefited from a guest vocalist with Drake just spitting a 16 or two.

Do some of you all not know how lazy of a defense it is to say “you gotta be at pool parties trying to get hoes to understand this“ or ”you gotta have more stamps in your passport to feel this” :mjlol:

Like people can’t appreciate actual good house / dance music and recognize a cheap imitation :russ:

If you like the album, cool, but defend it on the merits rather than saying silly shyt:hhh:

It's obvious you don't go to white clothes only day parties :troll:

I see what you mean. However, Drake is a very big artist and a relatively young person. This is his 7th album and it definitely answers an elephant in the room type of question for him. "What if he put out an album of all singing?". It also makes sense why he took CLB out of consideration for the Grammy's. I think we're likely to see even more experimentation. Now, he definitely deserves to hold this L for this "album" but he also deserves creative freedom. It could go either way for a guy like him. This could be his 808s and Heartbreak or it could be his Blueprint 2

:yeshrug:

Also, some folks have said it. A large part of this being ass is the timing. He had every chance to fill the summer gap that we thought we we're going to get from Kendrick (i loved the album, btw). The two biggest rappers of the past decade put out pet projects at a time when their fans really wanted HEAT.

I actually can’t believe they allowed that 21 verse on the album, completely embarrasses Drake and every second of music before that verse started

We'll see, it's a cold game. You're not allowed too many misses. The only rapper that comes to mind that constantly defies this reality is Eminem.

The album is actually okay, it's just very low-key and mellow. People acting like this is unlistenable are full of shyt.
