I agree with your premise but unless you’re a die hard fan, it’s hard to distinguish a lot of his tracks from each other. MATW and AEOM don’t sound alike, RTD and LAD don’t sound alike and I don’t think either Pac or BIG strayed away from what made them..them. There’s a fine line between switching up your sound and expanding your sound. I think a bigger issue is that he just doesn’t seem inspired, it’s like he’s replaying all his prior hits.

Exactly. To me, this and Scorpion just sound uninspired. Dude is on artistic autopilot.

Now, artists like Pusha and Future are very one subject artists. They do what they do better than anyone else. I expect that from them.

But if you're the #1 rapper, at least try something different. Even Jay got outside of the box every now and then, even if it didn't work.

Take Care and NWTS are classics.

I shouldn't comment because I haven't listened to the album completely, but I do think this sounds like his older projects. You can swap songs from Views, Scorpion and CLB and they'd fit. It's not bad but it's not what I was expecting.

Is it just me or is this album missing that classic R&B Drizzy track? More Life had Teenage Fever, Views had Fire & Desire, Scorpion had Peak and also Jaded, and Dark Lanes Demo Tapes had Not You Too.
