Scorpion is bloated but the highs on that album are undeniable

it’s going to be hard for most people to think this is better than Scorpion, there’s to many huge songs on there

It’s not many albums out there that have that many songs that will ring off anywhere

rap isn’t maturing, you are

Two things can be true as far as the maturing aspect. We're all getting older, but also, currently a lot of veterans are making some dope music, and late career veterans at that.

And as far as Scorpion, that is peak tik tok music. Ain't no real highs on that album.

no song on here is better than passionfruit lol

Passionfruit is pretty mid and forgettable, so I know that's not true. You Only Live Twice, 7am On Bridle Path, Love All, Knife Talk > Passionfruit

Most of the new releases by newer artists. The Coli didn't like Soulfly (I didn't like Soulfly myself tbh) or Gangsta's Pain and those were 2 of the hottest albums this year.

Albums by moneybag and rod wave were critically acclaimed? I think people bumped those albums and they did well but this is a music nerd forum for the most part. The consensus on here usually matches the professional reviews for better or worst

I’m curious. What was the last critically acclaimed album by a “mainstream rapper” that the Coli didnt fuk with?
Exactly. Most big albums from mainstream rappers get plenty of love on here. King's Disease just got praised on here to the end of the earth, and rightfully so.

Honestly, The Coli is pretty damn decent for a variety of fair opinions. No matter what sub-genre, there's a base of knowledgeable heads on it in here.

ATL - Cleveland Ave.
Production wise no tracks match Dondas best scores..
But lyrically / conceptually and overall this is miles better.
:mjlol: You nikkas just use words I swear. What's the concept friend? Tell us what the single cohesive theme is that links the tracks in this project. This is just a bunch of cookie cutter mood/vibe songs that you can smoke and drink with thots to and some trademark/standard Drake braggadocio tracks.

Always funny seeing how the internet receives albums like this and then you go out into the real world and see everyone bumping this shyt outside and giving it love
nikkas will hype some absolute bullshyt on here and claim its a classic and that shyt gets no spins anywhere but on a niche corner of the internet, but god forbid nikkas fukk with an album by a mainstream rapper on here

Yeah but that's usually the difference between casuals and/or hardcore heads. You're more likely to run into the opinion of a hardcore critic on the internet than IRL.

Thjs is funny

if CLB is the same ole drake then The off-season is the same ole Cole

Cole isn’t doing anything new on there. He isn’t experimenting with sounds or whatever you call it

And bringing up KD2 is a joke. Only Nas stans are listening to that album and care about it

If only Drake stans enjoy CLB then that’s no different than everything Nas has done post God’s son

Drake has dominated music for an entire decade +.

No artist is going to make something that sounds totally new when you’ve heard hundreds of verses and songs for over a decade.

Sounds like a bunch of excuses. The Off-Season and King's Disease II both received praise in the real world. They're respected as great projects. People are going to go back and listen to them because they're good. Nobody is going to remember this album existed in a couple years.

And if you really think The Off-Season doesn't sound differently than his last three albums, I have no idea what you're listening to. The last time he made a song like "Applying Pressure" was probably seven years ago with "Fire Squad." The production is a major step up from KOD, where a lot of the beats blended into each other. Again, I have no idea what you're listening to with claims like that.

And are you serious with Nas' discography after God's Son? He didn't try making an album with a completely different tone and approach every time he dropped? Didn't try working with new producers, exploring new concepts? Even though King's Disease II is a sequel, it goes out of its way to separate itself from the first one in almost every category. What is wrong with you? :mindblown:

Drake has dominated for years with hits, but there's a reason people don't hold up his marathon albums like that. He's a singles artist, and he has been for a long time.

Nikka that excuse is tired. Damn near everybody has internet access in 2021 including the ones whom are "in the real world or outside" and the ones on his dyck. This isn't the 90s
Yeah the whole real world thing makes no sense anymore. fukk, I mean in real life people are still glued to their screens even when they aren't at home or inside. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram...these places have just become new public squares, sidewalks, etc.

There's not some magic haven in the "real world" where no one is using the internet and people there just have all these musical opinions that aren't touched by online discussions or affected by online communities.

There’s a 100% difference in enjoying musically socially vs by yourself and through a screen
