I think in his mind he refuses to believe he lost the beef, dude has been winning for years, even the pusha beef which he lost too did very little damage. His team would be fools to let him put out a new album in the next 12 months.

Drake re-signed with Universal Music Group in a deal said to be worth a whopping $400 million.

UMG's chairman Sir Lucian Grainge has confirmed the God's Plan rapper inked an 'expansive, multi-faceted deal' covering 'recordings, publishing, merchandise and visual media projects' during the firm's latest earnings call.

Ain't no one signing a $400 million dollar deal and not dropping for a full year :heh:

This was by design. :heh: 's ego is so big i'm sure he thought he would easily wash Kendrick, but as a fail safe he went at 20 rappers on every song so he could say "I was battling everyone and held my own :whoa: " as an escape hatch. Dot humiliated him, but he definitely clowned all the other jokers who tried to hop on the wave (Metro, Ross, Rocky, Weeknd).
I don't think Drake got a W with weeknd. "Shooters making tiktoks" was a better shot than anything Drake said about XO, and Drake bodyguard got shot up right after saying weeknd ain't getting shyt shot.

Those bars at weeknd aged like milk.

Drake was a budden Stan before he blew up, Drakes whole style is lifted from Joe, witty punchlines weaved into a mix of introspective/pity me bars on tracks about relationship drama and family life…with the odd “club” song thrown in (drake is clearly better than Joe with the latter)…Drake pretends it doesn’t but it clearly hurts his feelings whenever Joe criticises him

To go further than this tho, it goes both ways, in the sense that Joe is clearly bitter that drake became the biggest rapper in the world based of his whole style, same way Lupe is clearly bitter about Kendrick and goes out of his way to shyt on Kendrick whenever possible….Kendrick has been a top 5 biggest rapper for a decade now, and his whole style is “not street but grew up in the streets lyrical miracle rapper who releases concept albums with crossover appeal”…sounds like someone else right?

Joe & Lupe both watched two other rappers use their whole aura to become two of the biggest rappers of all time when they were barely scraping gold/platinum 15 years ago with the same exact content

Drake is more a Phonte clone stylistically and a Budden clone in subject matter.

Clowning those other dudes means absolutely nothing. Metro makes beats. Future ain't that kinda rapper. Ross ain't on that level no more. Rocky don't even rap anymore. And Weeknd is a singer and honestly I think that beef is deeper than music.

You right, but they all jumped out the window and got dealt with. Except Fewtch; seems like Drake is actually sad about that one and just told him that Metro is the problem and to stand down.
The fans are the real losers on the Fewtch and Ross ones, because :heh: makes beautiful music together with both of them :wow:

Weeknd's bodyguard got shot first in LA before the records, that seemed like retaliation for that more than Drake's bars :manny:

I'm sure it burns Drake's soul though that weekend is arguably as big of an artist as him (and has a few streaming records on Spotify).

Even if it was retaliation, drake's shots were basically that weeknd was a drugged up punk who didn't wanna see ovo in the streets. Them XO nikkas showed that they are willing and prepared to take it to the streets. Those bars on family matters and Push ups don't hit the same now that Drake's bluff was called.
