Jim Sterling gave this a 3 :snoop:

I have my issues with the game but anything less than a 7 is rage baiting. I’d even accept the 6 if you’re really bothered by some of the rougher design choices but a 3 is pretty much a broken game.

went from an 87 to an 85 on MC

Yeeaaa. I think I'm pretty much done with this afterworld end game bullshyt. Being on a timelimit and not able to save frequently, causing hours of play being lost isn't fun at all. Think I'm content with the 'false' ending.

I did it in about 2 hours? It was pretty basic tbh, what are you having problems with?

i just ran and did all the light beams, once i finished the 3 (4 with battahl) i saved at an inn and that locks progress, then i went and did the evacuation missions which were also mad short and simple. I think i spent maybe like 3 days maybe doing all of it and by the end i had to rest like 7 more times to get the last end game mission.

Dragons were all mad easy

Yea my dumb ass was doing the evacuations mixed with the beams. Just loss two evac quests and a dragon win while fighting the dragon at the arbor. Easy fight, but I fell to my death. I gotta remember not to do that power slash move from a great height.. I just bodied him the second time. So yea I'ma do the reaming two beams first and go from there. Thanks

shyt is a personal 8.5-9 for me. I love the jank and the micro transactions don’t bother me. It’s like a more playful Elden ring, with a lot less content, mixed up with dragon age and Skyrim lol

now i sit in every rift crystal 10 minutes staring each pawn down before even looking at their class

I wanted the original Elden Ring to have a climbing mechanic after BoTW but now I REALLY want the next From game to have climbing.

:francis: One of the homies did me dirty. His pawn was infected and I didn't notice. Good thing it went berserk in an area I don't really need.

Only hiring blue eyed pawns from now on :mjpls:

if your pawn is wearing a shiesty or some other sort of nefarious face-covering, they can't work here :mjpls:

8.5 is about where it's sitting with me too.

Unfortunately they didn't improve on the delivery of the story and actually may have done worse :picard:. If you didn't play the first it's hard to understand dogma/cycle, nor did they give us the Seneschal payoff/explanation at all in this game (even reading the books in the lab don't shed much) and the post-game world is a cool change...but a step back from the post world of the 1st to me.

The time limit wasn't bad, but it was fun to have no time limit on the 1st and just run around shootin the fade with various drakes and what not. The everfall was a cool twist too, and felt more connected seeing as we had to go through it before the dragon fight and see how it changed.

Overall a lil disappointed in some of that, considering it seemed like they learned a lot when they did the expansion for the 1st so you'd think they'd have built off that. Maybe they held back to have material in DLC but if so that's a shame.

Still, gameplay loop was unrivaled this year for me. Some times the spawn rate is a bit OD but the world exploration and combat was the perfect mix of jank and GTA level randomness for a sequel.

i was actually whelmed by the immersive elements. The way Itsuno and them were talking this up like the open world is never boring and there’s all these unique events constantly happening was definitely not how it felt after the first 10 hours. It felt like they randomly spawned in a monster in town every once in a while and the whole Cyclopes bridge thing was maybe something that happened in one area. I never found a reason to break bridges or do any of that stuff. Most of the big combat encounters always just ended up feeling like playing a game like Rebirth. The strategy rarely ever changed.

This game could have at least done with some good pallete swaps, give me a red fire Cyclopes that shoots laser beams out their eyes like some of the dragons. A big troll that rolls around. White dire wolves, that roar and cause status effects, etc. its like simple palette swaps that could have made the game more interesting.

I think the most unique part was seeing random people on the road help out fighting things. I think i wanted more BoTW/ToTK open world environment behavior stuff going on and they definitely under delivered with that aspect

that brings me to one of my other criticisms…the enemy placement. They just constantly throw one group Of enemies in your path after another so you can’t even really strategize. All you can do is barrel through one mob after another. All those boulders and rocks set up had me thinking they were gonna put you in some unique situations to throw explosive and stuff on enemies but its just a constant wave
