In the anime, Trunks destroys Merged Zamasu's body and Zamasu's sprit is eventually destroyed by Zeno.

In the manga,. Merged Zamasu's fusion time runs out, splits black into Goku Black and Zamasu who eventually transform into an army of Zamasu clones whom Zeno comes in and destroys him once and for all. But the way the writers executed this was generic and predictable.
