Kakarot is iite but I’m still at the Android Saga it could’ve been much better for sure. One thing that made me stop playing is the fukking music. Like for fukk sakes man they need to include the Bruce Faulconer soundtrack in there and other games.
I think the biggest problem with Kakarot is the fact that it's supposed to be the story about Goku, but it's just him in Z, not even
just him, it's more Gohan and sometimes Vegeta. They definitely should have done Dragon Ball, but it's not like they couldn't do anything with Z. Goku dying twice gave them two chances to give him some adventures in otherworld but they just turned it into DBZ: Gohan. BoG and RoF were both messes too.
I hope I'm not the only one that sees a problem with the graphics and models, either. Like this
Vegeta. They have some awesome cutscenes but the models and the clay-looking texture brings them down. Most characters have short forearms, their wrists look weirdly deformed sometimes, their faces look off many times (especially Vegetas imo), the folds of the clothes look stiff and generally some body analogies are off. Something that is noticeably bad is the characters' necks. They deform weirdly with different motions and muscle placement is a bit off.
What I think happened was that they wanted to do what FighterZ did: make models that are super posable simply to match a specific look that the anime or manga had in a particular scene (like Goku when he ITs cell away). The problem is that the manga and anime are never consistent. Arcsys knows that, that's why they rely so heavily on still frames and forced perspective shots. Arcsys also went the extra effort to make sure they were completely on-model.
The game being open world has a factor in why Kakarot came out like this, but I still think they put a lot more effort in care in Kimetsu and Naruto Storm.
