I'll go out on a far ass limb because Goku as retarded as he is, is still my guy 
Goku plans to become so OP he breaks the structure of GOD and Angels and becomes a merciful god for his Universe to keep it safe from anything evil. And regardless of what might happen with the decisions that he makes to give evil a chance to do the right thing, he'll have his friends like Vegeta and whoever to support his idiocy and get him out of these situations.

I've always said the "Goku shows too much mercy to his opponents" is a bit overblown, but this is bullshyt doesn't help 
There is no defensible reason for goku to do what he did. In the cell saga it was stupid, but it made sense cause he knew gohan was strong enough to molly whop that nikka.
On what planet does Moro need a senzu in order to make it back to prison tho?
And it’s crazy, because Moro didn’t need to be healed to get the Merus power up. shyt is just stupid for the sake of taking up page count.
That ending should make it real easy for Vegeta to win this though. It also provides a way to bring Merus back.

I feel like Goku was written wrong. There was no reason for him to give Moro a senzu bean. He gave Cell a bean to have a fair one with Gohan. There was no reason to do that for Moro.

Yeah the senzu bean was unneeded. Moro could have gotten the power up without the bean
It could be argued that goku is lowkey the biggest villain in super. almost got the universe wiped out because he wanted to fight in a tournament. had trunks’ universe wiped out because he got his body jacked. now this.
also, giving a senzu to Moro is like giving a senzu to kid buu. some bad guys don’t need a shot at redemption. By the end of DBZ, goku understood that.

Exactly. This is character regression.
Him and Vegeta have basically swapped places from where they were in the beginning of DBZ. Goku is now the power hungry, selfish imbecile that will happily endanger and ignore the fate of his friends, family, and the entire universe and allow obviously evil villains power up to their ultimate form, because all he cares about in life now is being and fighting the strongest there is. While Vegeta fights and betters himself almost solely to protect his family, his protege Cabba, and the innocents he's harmed along the way like the Namekians.
If Toriyama and the clown assistant he has making this nonsense now could see that, and had even an ounce of self-awareness or creativity in their writing, they could take this story down a new and actually interesting path with that dynamic going forward. But considering they had this exact same chance to do something different back in DBZ; with Goku being the protector of Otherworld and having Gohan and the rest of his friends and family take up his place as the guardians of the Earth and main focus of the story in his place... and they totally whiffed and chickened out by bringing him back to life and making everything and everything rely all on just him as usual in the end... I have zero faith in them to get it right this time.

Done with Dragon Ball, writing in Super has gotten progressively worse with each arc. I wish Toriyama hired a writer who writes DB like some of popular modern mangas like Naruto, One Piece, and MHA. DB is too stuck in the past with Goku saves the day storyline. I wish Gohan, Piccolo, Trunks, and Goten got stories focused on them instead of mostly Goku with a sprinkle of Vegeta
