I don't hate Goku. I actually liked him as a kid and have respect for him and his character. But it's easy to understand why people don't fukk with him, his character, and the way he's portrayed.
Yes, Trunks got the "official" kill. But nobody cared at that point, because we also saw Goku defeate Frieza and leave him for dead. That left a bigger impact. Goku bodied him, Trunks laid the chalk down.
He fought Android 19 and caught the heart virus in the middle of a fight he was easily winning. I know they needed a way to get him out the storyline, but it cheapened Vegeta's W against 19. Goku should have flat out taken a clean L to 19. Then it makes the Androids look stronger and also made Vegeta's W look a whole lot better.
Yes, but he didn't flat out lose. He fought Cell before, and was helping Gohan see how Cell fights and then helped him fully kill Cell at the end after sacrificing himself. He did sacrifice himself though so
Kid Buu was only weaker than Super Buu after he absorbed Gohan, Gotenks, and Piccolo. So even that version was super strong. Gohan got the power boost, but he also went out like a ho.
Nobody's beating Beerus. That's absurd. Even then he was holding his own and didn't take the definitive L
He basically had Frieza beat though before Sorbet interfered. Which cheapened Vegeta's W once again, because we clearly saw Frieza beaten. So Vegeta's performance didn't mean shyt.
He wasn't going to beat Hit in the tournament, and he basically quit. He got the out once again instead of taking the definitive L.
He basically won before the tine ran out on his body. Jiren was done for. 18 only got the win because he was the last person left. Goku and Frieza played cleanup. And there was no way Goku should have had any fight left in him after God power zapped everything he had in his body.
I'll give you this one. No complaints here.
It's not that he gets the wins. It's that he's protected and always made to look strong no matter what. Rarely do we see him in compromising situations. Even when he doesn't get the W and even takes a L, he comes out looking good/strong. And it's to the detriment of other characters, who fans have been drawn to and built an investment in
