Am I the only one that considers everything after Z as glorified fan-fiction? I mean I still watch anything new released but in my mind Z is a completely separate canon.

Same way for me.

I enjoy super (still haven’t finished tournament of power) but far too many contradictions as if relates to Z. The biggest one is Goku being eager to fight a strong opponent. It was completely exaggerated in super. While Goku would like a challenge in Z, he also was far more calculated. He didn’t rush to fight cell cause he knew he’s get whooped. He didn’t rush to fight Super Boo at all. And when Super Boo reverted back to his normal self he wasn’t trying to see them hands either without fusion.

They also completely went against what Gohans power up entailed. And don’t they retcon Potara? It’s no longer permanent or something.

But I still enjoy Super. I honestly didn’t start getting into it until Goku Black and even now I find myself starting over with that arc again

Im here with it.

I dont care if toriyama "oversees" (Glorified co-sign) Super, its not written by him and is just as non cannon as GT to me.

It feels like a glorified fanfiction in good ways (callbacks to previous arcs and concepts toryimama long since abandoned like mafuba) and bad (ssg, power scaling)

Dragonball has lost it's purpose.

It's like an album from your favourite artist when you were growing up but they're washed now. You check for it but it's not the same.

Stories aren't fleshed out, characters are actual cut outs and ignore established logic. Every fight is not a fight but a bunch of beams and power ups.

The biggest difference between Z and super is the scale of consequences.

Peak saga of super is Black I guess.

How many you've been defeated insert a coin into the time machine to recover and fight again at a later date were there?

Not to mention, if they did get bodied they had Beerus and a favor from Zeno in their pocket. :russell:
Plus it didn't make any damn sense.

Meanwhile you have established history of a super saiyan Trunks bodying Frieza and telling Kakarot he's not strong enough to defeat the threats in his own timeline.
:whoo:

Everyone will try to level up their skills and it's not enough and then two new androids pop up.

Cell gets bodied by Vegeta and tests Vegeta's pride by saying they aren't on the same level, let me prove it. We want Vegeta to end Cell, we saw the Trunks special.

Perfect cell

:merchant:

That was a decent warm up and bodies Vegeta.

:snoop:

Kakarot testing his power at Korin's and knowing it isn't enough. Yet more than everyone else.

The GOAT fight happens and it's not enough.

:dwillhuh:

Gohan does the impossible but doesn't finish Cell, his pops gives his life for his son's growth.
:mjcry:

Cell comes back more powerful than ever and bodies Trunks, Vegeta and ruins Gohan's arm. All hope lost again.

Kakarot speaks to his son telling him to use what he knows he has.

No Mary sue required.

That's all super is, a predictable series with characters we know without consequences.

I watched one episode of DB Heroes. I'm good.

yeah that whole thing is just to promote a game, so it really doesnt matter. Its there if you just want more DB action.

Prolly the reason you feel like that is because this series isnt fully written by Toriyama. Plus the writers that take his outlines and expand on it arent good either. In other words given everything, the series is just not well written.

@bolded

DB has not lost its purpose. Its a martial art series, its doing what its suppose to do

Super just isn't good as the original, just like how other franchise add ons or continuations are mostly not as good as the original.

The author is not apart of it, and its whole purpose is just to make more money. :yeshrug:

plus SSJ transformation is lowkey a mary sue/dues ex machina.
