goku didnt start anything. if anything, he gave those universes a chance at survival, because zeno was gonna wipe them out regardless, save for the handful of universes he made exempt from the tourney. the only way goku would be at "fault" would be if the exempt universes had to participate and win to survive as well.
and of course it's gonna be goku vs. jiren at the end. vegeta in some capacity too. for a little while at least.

Obviously Goku and Jiren are going to have a rematch, that doesn't mean they have to be the last two people left or that Goku has to win. And there's no point even pretending Jiren won't knock Vegeta out at some point.
And yes, this shyt is still Goku's fault and he hasn't so much as apologized or even given any indication of regret. Sure, Zeno says he was going to do it anyway but that doesn't mean he actually would have anytime soon, dude is flaky as fukk. After all none of that shyt happened in Future Trunks timeline and that timeline's Goku never even met Beerus or Zeno. For all we know he would've changed his mind or put it off for 500,000 years.
