They showed more of the battle because its not limited to an hour like the movie but as far as the power scale of the character, they made it a much closer battle than it should have been. They tried to fix it by having Whis tell Beerus he was lying about using his true strength to make Goku fight harder but it was much too late. I didnt like the 'Oh btw, I wasnt using my full power even though I told him I was." excuse. Its weak when they only use it to try and hype Goku more when we already know he's nowhere near Beerus. Kinda lazy.
