With all the turnover the company may be still called BioWare but is it really even the BioWare that made all their beloved games?

Talent-wise, of course not. Even if they hadn't gotten acquired by EA, they still wouldn't likely be the same company, as people still likely would've moved on to other things.

But as far as an idea, or a group of studios that make a specific style of game, BioWare is still BioWare. The problem is that they just haven't quite been able to figure out how to modernize what a BioWare game is. The answer is probably staring them in the face, in that maybe they need to just live with the modernizing just being quality of life type stuff, but that's probably the kind of risk that EA isn't comfortable with. And even then, that's more of a problem that EA created due to having such a narrow set of games that they develop, let alone publish.
