the problem is some people don't know how to decipher entertainment from reality.

you can enjoy rap music that promote negative themes yet not condone or participate in the lifestyle that is promoted. the same as people who enjoy movies or video games that promote negative themes.

but where is the hip-hop that's positive. why is almost ALL hip-hop negative? why is almost ALL hip-hop about killing the next brother? why is almost ALL hip-hop about shooting guns? why is almost ALL hip-hop about degrading our black sisters? where is the hip-hop that is uplifting? where is the hip-hop that promotes group economics? where is the hip-hop that promotes education? there was a point when hip-hop was a very diverse musical form that invited a myriad number of perspectives, including those i ust asked about. but now?

all hip-hop has regressed to is one long uninterrupted scream of degeneracy. drugs. misogyny. murder. and it's being fed to black people 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. think about that. and you don't think that will have a toxic impact on black culture? :childplease:

there is still hip-hop out there like that. it's just most [young] people don't want to listen to that type of stuff. nowadays [young] people want music to have fun to no matter how vulgar it may be.

video games used to be fun wholesome 2d platform games and have turned way more violent in the past 20-25 years

i grew up with g-unit, dipset, young jeezy, gucci mane, screwed up click, swishahouse, atl crunk music, etc and never wanted to replicate the lifestyle promoted in the music and grew up with kids that had that same mindset but then again i also grew up with kids that were consumed by that lifestyle as well. :manny:

One fish, two fish
red fish, blue fish,
knick knack, paddy whack, give a dog a bone,
two thousand, zero, zero, party, oops!
Out of time, my bacon's smellin' fine

Movies and video games have always been a bad comparison. Those are accepted as modes of fantasy. Rap "music" is unique in that it professes to be based on the reality of the streets, and then the madness of the streets proceeds to be glorified.

oliver stone, al pacino, steven bauer and frank loggia didnt need any street cred to be in scarface.

the makers of GTA dont need to really buss they guns to make the game.

arnold schwartwhatever didnt need to really be a bad ass to star in terminator.

nikka, whet ?

Why do you think theres so much saturation in the industry ?

Youngins think hip hop is a quick buck because capitalism controls hip hop as an asset. & they be controlling the way it sounds too
bruh we are people like they are people, sure we have less power but that is no excuse to not care about how you present yourself.sadly we more than any other race on the planet will be judged by our worse rather than our best.
