Where did this rule that a music genre started by Black people is supposed to create banks and schools for the Black community? I never heard this about Doo Wop, Jazz, Funk, Rock N Roll or House music. R&B has been around almost 100 years and no one is demanding R&B creating schools and banks for the Black community. I wanna know what year this rule saying Hip Hop was supposed to build schools and banks started and why did this rule skip over R&B which was around longer?

Good point. But I think the issue is that some people like to pretend that hip-hop is more than just mindless entertainment.

And also, it's probably irritating for nikkas like Umar when people bring up hip-hop as an answer to the question..."what have black people achieved since the civil rights movement"

I'm at the age now where I can sit back and recognize that hip-hop really ain't shyt. I mean I love it, but I love it the same why I love old kung-fu movies :ehh:

Umar is right about this, hiphop ain't achieved shyt for black people in 50 years but make a few nikkas rich and become the soundtrack for murder, violence, drugs and misogyny in the community (which were always there, but now they have a soundtrack to promote it). Those are facts that can't be disputed. AT ALL.

And instead of nikkas catchin feelins nikkas should be planning to turn that shyt around.
So where's the data to support this?

Somebody gonna have to actually prove hip hop's rise has caused an increase on crime and misogyny

Just saying it's a fact and can't be dulisputed without any proof is wild :laff:

No music genre other than under the cover war chants with a message is used for the people to fight and no genre has built institutions outside of maybe classical music at least in the west. But saying that hip hop has been overall positive for Blacks is definitely cap. It simply doesn't have that value.

Learn to craft a coherent argument. Promotion leads to what? The same results?

If that's the case then it doesn't matter what hip hop talks about if it doesn't increase the problem

The black community doesn’t have any good messengers being pushed in the media. Umar is the new pastor, he creates broken homes and is an adulterer just like the nikkas he criticizes.

If somebody like Tariq would straighten up with some of his rhetoric then he could do what Umar thinks he’s doing.

Promotion doesn't have to lead to an increase, but it sure as hell leads to normalizing it. In any case we at least agree it's worthless music. :lolbron:

Ignorant comment :francis:

The fact we're on a sports, HIP HOP, and piff website and yet we have posters who clearly don't respect the genre or its history is quite the spectacle
