this ain't 2001. this album was okay. Dre's voice definitely changed. Must be the roids. this album could of been way better if dre did some more laid back tracks. i felt like some of the songs (especially with kendrick) feels forced. Yall hyping this way too much ... NEXT...

Xzibit Baaack :ohhh::yes:

Chuck on here styling all over that joint :mj:

F it I fs wit that first joint after a few listens as well

Animals :cheers::dj2:

The production on this is .... And I didn't even catch everythin on a first skim

Only complaint is we should have got final versions of those TI refs and that track from Kendrick x dre commercial

I'm sure they will drop at some stage as beats music exclusives

Dre baaack

That's my only complaint too. His vocals sounds forced but those beats make up for the forced vocals on this new album. I always like dr Dre solo songs the best on all his "solo" albums.

Animal is definitely the best beat on the record, and what a shock, it's the least produced track also :martin:

Dre was trying to do too damn much on this

Animals is my favorite record too. Hopefully that look means Primo will get more placements. His sound is timeless, and with some good mixing and a few layers added, it's :ahh:

:what: ain't NOTHING on Compton that comes even close to Still DRE, xxplosive, next episode, what's the difference, forgot about dre, bang bang...

Don't know why you bring up Quik like he got shyt to do with this album, Nate Dogg was only on two joints on 2001, he didn't make that album

The production isn't bad on this album, but lot of tracks are definitely over produced and borderline messy. Dre was trying to get too fancy and technical with it, DJ Premier showed him on Animal that all those bells and whistles don't mean shyt over over a simple catchy tune

it doesn't sound better than DJ Quik's worst album :camby:
man this shyts on..

book of david
trauma
under the influence
midnight life...

the panning on compton...is on the same level as safe n sound n rhythmalism tho...

how its mixed n eq'd

rhythmalism n safe n sound the only 2 quik albums that can come close to this shyt..

the highs..are where they r suppose to be...n u can feel every bit of the lows if ya epic center n subs..are right...without it bein cloudy

thats where u fukked up...get 1999 n 2001 dikk out ya ear..n focus on now...honestly outside of those 6 songs u name...the rest of that shyt is filler...n skippable...7 with fukk u...everything else replay action is negative..

dj premier didnt do shyt but scratch..thats it..

none of the songs are over produced..its been bullshyt in the rap game...when a nikka who actually take his time..mix n master his own shyt the right way...its too much..

this albums shyt on 2001 with no single or water

lyrically n sonically
