I saw some ppl on twitter saying this isn't "west coast" but to me it's clearly west coast album w/ a somewhat updated west coast sound. I mean it sure as hell doesn't sound like south/mid-west/east coast album to me. at all. even the Premier joint feels more like a west coast song than typical DJ Premier boom-bap song

but ur right, if there's a soundtrack will probably have that 80s/90s west coast feel to it & probably bunch of older songs too.

not sure if there is gonna be a separate soundtrack though. would be dope.
Bro half tha artists on this album ain't even from tha west coast

and I do t wanna hear tha 80s 90s sound, I wanna hear tha new west coast sound, this shyt ain't got no bangers like explosive, still dre, etc

this joint is not great.

I like it, but off my first listen I dont have a want to listen to it again unlike with 2001 and Chronic.

Also, it sounds like everything out right now. Its weird because Dre's work for other artists recently had me excited because he was doing something different. This album does not sound that different at all, sonically.

havent listened to it yet. but understand something. there hasnt been an album in THIS new era that has made you feel like 2001 or chronic be honest. not one hiphop album. part of that is the wackness we hear today. the other part is the mentality we now have with music period. out with the old in with the new is literally a week to week thing now. back then you road with an album, you were not judging it day one. you didnt really start judging it until a good 3 weeks to a month later. now its after you half listen to it. on one go round. no telling how you will feel about it a week from now, next week. a month, etc. you may love it, some songs may grow on you. that is how most WHOLE albums become classics. other songs that you were not even vibing to in the beginning starts to grow on you. but if you toss any album in the trash day one. there's no way for you to experience the 'grow on you' effect.
