Dr. Dre Admits He Was 'Talked Into' Making 'The Chronic': 'It Wasn’t My Decision'

I like Dre’s music but a lot of other artists saved him from his name fading. Snoop, Em, 50, Game & Kendrick. Compton was decent but showed it wasn’t the best he’s made. The GTA soundtrack was better. He’s too much of a perfectionist and the fans suffer because of that.

He's a producer... you could literally say this about every producer there's been...

And in his case, there's three guys out of the 5 you named that credit him with showing them how to improve on their talent, thus the music we ended up getting. Snoop, Em, and Game didn't arrive at Dre's door as a finished product that anybody could have made a great album with.

But his mad scientist overthinkin' ass has been drivin' himself up the wall withholding music we probably would have loved for the last 20 years, and that's just plain crazy It's the same reason Michael used to take so long with music (and probably hurt his music to a dregree), he was stuck on it being perfect and everything being a hit and there not being a single thing missing from it, and years are passing... then it comes out and it's probably not even better than the shyt that was scrapped.
