Top 2 producer of all-time. Still.

No other producer in Hip Hop has the vision and sense of direction that Dre has. He's able to sit in the room with other legendary producers/writers and actually find strengths in their talents that could make them even better at their craft. He's responsible for so many iconic careers, it's crazy. I respect that he's never been against being humble and letting his peers help in either coaching or motivating him. That's a true sign of greatness. He's always trying to refine the mastery. Serious GOAT sh*t.

If he makes it a character album that blends his various personas together as an ex gangbanging, former preacher, current pimp whose roles are interchangeable throughout the songs and topics as he wittily highlights the nature of the hustle in three forms with various levels of social acceptance I'd give it a spin. After all they're all pretty much the same really because its all about power over someone else hence Missionary would be perfect because you're getting F'd either way.

Helping someone find a skill they didn't know they possessed is a type of magic if you think about it. Dre has this in spades.

I genuinely don't know what your mind sees as non Harlemite activities in whats said but given how the recent threads have been around here I probably don't want to either way.

You need to pause on the pause if your mind leaps there that quick, friend. Log off and touch titty.

I was just tellin' this to somebody... nowadays nikkas can just see two dudes in a picture hugging or smiling and jump to a ⏸️ conclusion... and I'm like who's more suspect: the dudes in the picture, or the people who see two dudes smiling and the first thing that pops in their head is sex?

I like Dre’s music but a lot of other artists saved him from his name fading. Snoop, Em, 50, Game & Kendrick. Compton was decent but showed it wasn’t the best he’s made. The GTA soundtrack was better. He’s too much of a perfectionist and the fans suffer because of that.
Other way around.

I don't have it right in front of me for the exact quote, but I swear inside the cover of the album he said "shout out to DOC for talking me into doing this album" :manny:

Dre is too much of a perfectionist it’s too his own detriment. He is never satisfied, there is ALWAYS something wrong with a song. He is on the quest for the most perfect song and it drives him crazy.

I remember in an interview, Bishop Lamount said that Dre hates listening to “Chronic 2001” cause he feels there things he can fix. He says the only song he listens to is “Lightspeed.” It’s the only song on the album he feels is “perfect.” :gucci:

Dre has a talent that’s a gift and a curse. He always has to 2nd guess himself..

That Marsha Ambrosius album BEEN done. They did a listening event for the album back in February and it’s STILL hasn’t seen the light of day. I’m sure the album sounds amazing but I bet he never intends to release it cause it’s not “perfect.”

At one time Dre had Rakim, Eve, Busta Rhymes, Game, and Joell Ortiz on Aftermath and he just let them rot. Busta had to force “The Big Bang” out. Eve had to get Def Jam to help her out and Rakim just said “I’m outta here..”

Dre also talked about why he never worked with Michael Jackson, Prince, or Madonna. And I thought to myself “It doesn’t matter, you probably were just gonna put it in the vault anyway.. :martin:

I remember Stat Quo said in an interview he got tired of driving around listening to music that will never see the light of day.

Damn shame
